I'm bored with WoW, bored with DAoC and I don't really want to get into any more MMORPGS because they are too time consuming.

Suggest something else I can take up that will benefit me somehow!

well if you wanna try a different mmorpg.. give DDO a try.. you can get a free trial on mmorpg.com (atleast i got one there).. if you want a decent action game.. COD2 is always good for a few hours. or you can get GTA SA and fool around there should be a few days entertainement..

if you want something useful. try learning something computer thingys .. like java, html, flash animations,

you can also learn a language, learn to ride the unicycle, watch some tv-series, heroes, dexter, two and a half men, family guy, learn how to make something macgyver would be proud of..

there you go.. a few things you can do ;)

Learn to play the Guitar (or other instrument) it's so much more fun and you can actually put it on your CV. ;)

EDIT, common suggestion it seems. i gave up Games just over 2 years ago in favor of the guitar, it was the best thing I ever did tbh.

Get a Guitar, Get 1 lesson a week, find friends who play, practice for 3 months (min twice a week, not inc lesson) then u pass the pain barrier. :)

Do things like Rugby? Football? Chilling out with mates? Get a job?

List goes on really, its not till you get out their and do something that you start to think 'why did I start playing online games in the first place?'

start playing the yo-yo - im doing that \o/

lol going back a few years now so only the old bastards like Cal and Mojo may know, but do you remember when soft drinks brough out yo yos and everyman and his dog used to have either a fanta, sprite or coca cola yo yo? You couldnt walk down the street without seeing a kid trying to "walk the dog" with his Yo Yo, or "spinner" as the cool kids called it.

I'd start planning my future.

I know it sounds "not cool", but when you're 25, you'll be glad you did.

Know what you want to do with your life and focus on it.

Know what your backdoor plan is(No not like that Vlad), incase your "dreamjob" goes down the toilet.

Start saving up cash, doing oddjobs, so you don't need to ever take a loan.

Plan what you want to do if/when you get money in such amounts you can pay rent/food/other running costs.

Think of what kind of a woman you want to live with, go and "date" some so you get an idea. Take a chance really, don't be afraid of rejection. If you are, work on it step by step.

Put it all down, keep to the plan and don't let things get in the way, like drinking or having fun if you have an important interview/test the next day.

This might sound like a ridicilous answer to a "What to do besides MMO?", but i bet there's atleast a few members on this board who'd like another shot at being 16 and start again.

Massive's may have the "Create new character" option, real life is a crap design in that aspect.

i was pritty uber at yoyo's, could(probbly still can) make a scottish flag with the string, round the world, and rocking the baby(or something... basically its a triangle with the yoyo swinging in and out)

was quite hard stuff to do, especially with a manual, cause if you were to violent the yoyo came up and smacked you in the wrist, or worse:(

walking the dog is just so easy, could do that with my eyes closed, and dont you meen sleeper? basicly when the yoyo continue spinning without coming back up

tbh there wasn't much i couldn't do... though the ufo one(round the world but vertically) was a pritty hard one... couldn't do that in the end

EDIT: though, its not something i should really brag about:-/

exercise.

i dont totally agree with tohtoris advice. i dont think you need to know what your doing at 16. from the ages of 16-19 i went to college and planned to be a computer programmer, did an on the job NVQ, had a full time job, considerd joining the RAF (could of been a weapons specialist, making bombs, repairing weapons etc) and considered doing an open university course. at 19 i ended up at uni doing a course i chose just because i liked the sound of "is the pint of beer really a pint?".

now im on track to do a job that in the end is highly suitable for me.

what im trying to say is dont set a plan in concrete because it may not work, and you may just end up getting sick of it and thinking you cant do anything else.

now i can safely stick two fingers up at the stupid shit teachers at school who underestimated me.

Teach yourself something new. Pick something that interests you vaguely but really dont know much about, something different, not related to games or whatever you usualy do. Read up on it on Wikkipedia and then buy a couple of books on the subject. Examples of stuff Ive done this with recently:-

Physics (Einstein/Hawkins).
Dreams / The Unconcious mind (Carl Yung)
Poetry / Celtic verse

Or if thats too much effort just get a copy of Medieval II Total War

<etc>

Sound advice. Too many people just let life take them somewhere random, when most of what occurs in the world is down to the will of invidivuals. Make sure its your will that shapes your life to how you want it to be.
