I'm a student so technically i get the day off everyday However it's spent on doing work as usual followed by a long night of not being able to sleep, huzzah.

Right now it's modelling that 'Funny how?' scene from Goodfellas with a cartoon clown and gangster. Eurgh.

Well well well.

Amusingly, not too long after I started this thread I got a call. Its a receptionist from A&E on the phone. Got asked if I could go back to hospital today as there was something "the doctors want to double check, you will need another x-ray."

Ok I'm like...er why? She can't tell me.

Superstar mate from work scoots round and takes me there. I get told I "may have a punctured lung, you'll need to be admitted immediately!"

I think "NNNGNGNGNGNGNAARRGH!", am wheeled off to x-ray. Second x-ray is fine. Doctors fucked up, apparently yesterday's x-ray was "artifacts from radiation". Or something. So I'm ok to trundle back even though for 30 minutes I was thinking "HELLLLPPPP ME!".

Oh well, got my workmate to call into Tesco's and pick up Farcry for me. Huzzah etc

Will - The DK's played Sheffield on Friday night. It was an over 14's gig. That was the first "Bad Sign" (tm). Ok I knew no Jello Biafra so will it be like a bad covers band or something. No. It was worse. Much fucking worse.

I had resisted temptation to see them without Mr Biafra many times but had to give in. I wanted to weep afterwards. See what you think however...

Sheffield clubs. Wij, lol how long ago was Uni mate? Out of what you mention only The Leadmill is still going. Its a fucking toilet but is not TOO bad for gigs.

jaba - The Republic is the home of Gatecrasher and is now called Gatecrasher One. If you like Admin Assistants who dress like a cross between Scooter and extras from Dr. Who whilst thinking they are in the world of cutting edge hard house then you'll enjoy it. It is of course...shit. I can recommend a pub called The Harley which is quite near Sheff Uni student bar and The Cavendish on West Street.

If you like thick Yorkshire women who wear micro skirts you'll love Kingdom. You'll also need to like having your teeth bashed into the back of your mouth as you were obviously "a fucking student who was asking for it" from the beer monster lads.

The Corporation is the only alternative/rock club here. Charles St (love the name) has "ok" house/techno nights but no bullshit attitude at all.

As for late bars...lol do me a favour.

I think I remember The Cavendish. Was that the one all the Drama students used to ponce around in ?

I also remember The Hadfield up where I lived in my 3rd year in Walkley. Was ok for a quiet night with no 'townies'. You had to have a jumper with holes in and roll your own. I'd probably hate it nowadays

Days off are always an anti-climax for me as I usually spend them on my jack jones. Last thurs/fri was different however as I went on a first date with this bird on the Wednesday night. The date ended on the Saturday morning so a good time was had by all (well me anyway and that's what counts ).

I had plans to buy farcry and SC but I am skint until tomorrow. Roll on the weekend.

Well, the gig was pretty good. Over 18's gig, rather than over 14's, totally packed, and I had a good view from the balcony. Support went from totally shit, to punk by numbers, but, aside from some initial technical difficulties, the DK's were excellent. I even got to bitch to Jeff about my ex-girlfriend.

glad there's nothing wrong with your lungs mr xtro! that would put a cap on your day without doubt :/ anyway, as to what I think you should do, a bit of everything imo. keep moving around, and don't sit still for too long (ie 3 movies back to back is a no-no)

here's a good tip though....be aware of who you tell of your injury. when I had a broken collarbone certain mates took to clapping me on the back. fun it was not :/ I hadn't yet learned ambidexterousnessism so I couldn't retort in kind either
