Me and the missus are going to Dublin in a couple of weeks for the weekend and I would appreciate any (sensible) suggestions on where to go and what to do whilst there. I thank you.

Look at the old post-office (obviously). I'm not sure but I think the bullet-holes are still there.

erm.....

whiskey tasting(jamesons/powers/two others I can't remember all in one brewery).

Guiness hop-store..... I went before it was refurbed so I don't know what its like. The temple bar obviously. Look around the uni as well(if you're there for the weekend) they have a craft/art fair thingy. Some nice art, nik-naks(not crisps )

thats all that I can remember at the moment. :D

I can reccomend the following place: Buskers (in center), fab bar, cool music, cool people, etc

Also a nice place to go is Bar Code... it's not in city center, but has bar / resturant and is a damn cool place to be, I really enjoyed it there.

Burger King (Center) is quite interesting at 4Am as well... but I won't go into the details of that

Ice-creams were always much cheaper when I went as a kiddie :D
and the beer was comparable (when I went as a 'young adult') :p

but I haven't been since the introduction of tin money :(

Aye, second mortgage is a good idea.

When the Euro got introduced they totally shafted everything so expect to pay the same if not more than London prices most places you go, even outside of Dulbin.

The re-furbished hopstore is worth a visit. It's a tad dull in places but then I guess it's hard to make fermenting yeast sound interesting even when it is going towards a larverly pint of the black stuff.

Don't stay in the shop too long as they loop the music from less than 3 TV adverts and it really grates really quickly.

We never got as far as the Janeson factory but we did take one of them tour buses around and it was quite interesting. I never knew there was moose/deer/whatever roaming around in a public park in the centre of Dublin.

Hope this reply isnt too late, ive been away for a while. Best nightlife in Dublin by far is the Temple Bar area (NB no clubs but loads of bars and restaurants), any taxi driver can take you there and is smack bang in the centre and next to the river liffy.

For shopping ( well u do have the missus with you) there is Grafton Street ( 2mins walk from Temple Bar area) and O'Connell Street were the aforementioned famous Post Office is.

If Im not to late PM me for any more info you need on what is definatetly Irelands most cosmo city.
