yeah, normal face, xept when ur rooted, you can cast etc. and it will decay off :O

Been 1 on 1 with chanters a few times, always lost... second last time I whined about it on /gu and Mr. Pyrotechnix gave me some tips and tricks which might eventually end up with the pally owning the chanter! That gives hope doesn't it??!

Once upon a time a few days later, I was wandering out of apk, like an innocent little girl, going to amg where my group at dc xraods would pick me up. After picking up some daisies a chanter arrives..solo. Sweat breaks, I send groupleader to come apk asap. This time I sprint straight to the snaring pet, getting fairly close before much harm has been done...taunted the chanter on the way. I started to Melee the pet, and after a few hits (I don't know the exact pet-behaviour, but it eventually realises he won't do much DD'ing in a fight) I persuaded the pet to melee me.

Thing is that at this time Mr chanter has been testing my heat-resists, and I have been forced to use FH. Then the cat and mouse fight begins and you will actually have a chance, taunting (interrupting)...continuous sprinting etc...you might even have the chance to use FA2 or something.

Anyway, dc xroads-group came to save the day after a minute of cat and mouse (try to get out of range, get in range, taunt, sprint, perue etc etc etc..) I have to admit I would have lost in the end if it weren't for the daysaving albs.

But there's hope!

Aye im not boasting or anything but a Sorc can kill a group of 3/4 casters if he/she plays it right..

When i was 46 i managed to beat a group of 2, 50 mentalist and a 50 chanter... cant wait for bolt range mez :p

/me waits for a "do you want a medal/cookie" comments

Also any hybrid class with 2 or more ranged insta's should be able to take a chanter solo, all you have to do is wink at the pet and it will try to melee you

Pala's have one, range 1350 taunt, 30sec recast

and I tried hitting the mob, then run after chanter, the pet stopped and started casting :p

Aye i know SF, was referring to mincers/reavers/skalds :p

Reavers could..

Hit pet with 1500 insta dot
Run towards chanter and hit him with the 1350 range insta lifetap (interupt)
As he trys to quickcast stun you should be in range for the PBAE DD to hit him..

Probally wouldnt work 100% of the time but its possible..

Btw: did you actually hit the pet? Cos if the pets takes any damage it shouldnt cast at all..

Why do you think people hate enchanters so much, its not just the pbaoe you know. Im pretty sure people hate them more just for this reason.

Is it just me or is he talking about Pbuck being a chanter? when i grouped with him the other night i swear he was a Theurg in Albion :)

From my gorge experience solo chanter = easy rp ^^
insta stun > moc > quick cast
ask Zanski(damn poor guy) or red/yellow colored chanters from Conquest :D

tell you what though, im just waiting for the day that Mythic swings the ol' Bat of Nerf at them (with something lame like reducing the stun to half an hour, instead of the standard fortnight) and perhaps even lengthening the recast timer on that PBAoE to something a little over the nanosecond it has on it at the mo, and i bet the whinging will pour liberally from every inch of this board -

"I stood in the lords room the other day, and i only managed to farm 100k RP, and floor 80 albs per blast! This sux!"

"Damn Mids resisting my stun whilst i single handedly attempted for the power relic! WTF??" :lol:

besides, if anyone ever read the definitions of the classes that Mythic gave on first release, apparently its not chanters we should ph34r, its the Eldritches, as they are "Possibly the most powerful magic users in all the realms..."

that was obviously an oversight ;) heh!

i beat a chanter 1 on 1 and when i looked back at the log i resisted stun about 4 times in a row :p

pure 100% luck

used IP tho :p

Lol at enchanters heat debuffing my lvl20 reaver or debuffing you on 5% hp, or stunning you when you are easily in range and not headed towards them and you are one nuke away from death :d

Oh btw, you could try using a buffed-to-hell minstrel like Fadeh, works very well vs enchanters. Owned me/champs/NS's anything really that he/she found. :)
