Imagine this:

Capped mele resists... = about 28% on average with racial...
Physical Defence 5 = 28%
Sub-class = 5% for a 1 minute duration

In total, you will have over 60% in mele resists!!!

All my magic resists on my Scout are above 22%...

Example... 22% minimum
Avoidance of magic 3 = 10%
Sub-class = 10% for ten minutes duration!!

In total, you will have over 42% resists!!!

Gona be some longs fights out there now me thinks

Actually they dont stack on top of each other like that, instead they are counted one at a time so the total effect is less. For example if you take 100 damage and wear say chain then 27% is deducted - 73 left, then deduct melee resist, say slash 26% (26% of 73 is 19) - 54 left, then deduct physical defence 28% (28% of 54 is 15) - 39 left, deduct 5% for champ ability from this which is about 2 so you end up taking 37 damage. Might not be the right order but anyway, it isnt quite as effective as just adding them on top of each other, which would have been 86% and left only 14 damage.

Afaik the 5% will simply increase normal melee resists by 5, so it is additive, agreed about PD though, its always been second tier.

If I'm right then in Blizzards example you'll effectively get 1-(1-0.28-0.05)*(1-0.28) = 51.8% Melee resists.

I thought about that, but realised that in too many fights I won't get the opportunity to use them at all, 3s fixed cast it a long time. For 8v8 I guess it might be nice when you're rooted etc though.

now that would be pretty stupid, as all paladins have the same resisits already without DR... use your chants perhaps with brain, and not just mash the regular 4 buttons.. even with 29 chants, you can get +15% cold resist(the resist needed against the majority of stealthers who use legendaries) without any champion level..

(and btw sbs hit pretty hard when you're a pally, simply cause DW >> shield)

Imo you want to try and improve your char making it better, not getting something that will be pointless for the class ;P

Damage add seems fine on Tanks to me getting higher damage output, still this depends if it will be overwritten by wardens damage add I guess, rather pointless then if you don't solo :p

Still getting anything that improves melee to a mage is a waste imo.. a heal or something sure ;D

ALL staves are 100% dex. friars WERE going to be str, but they made it dex so that casters would be able to get more utility from their staff. though it's still laughable watching a wizzy staff something to death...

PD resists stack as usual, as well as the vampiir meleeresist buff.

aom and vampiir magicresist buff is secondary.
