"Screw politicians! Give them no airtime!"
"Screw reality TV! I don't want that crud ruining airtime!"
"Screw celebrities! No airtime! Nein!"

And so forth.

We've all heard the nein-sayers, but what IS good for airtime?

I'm not asking for particular shows(yes we know you love your firefly!), i'm asking in all simplicity;

What should airtime be used on?

Also why, how much, would it fill the whole 24/7 etc answers are welcome.

Disclaimer; if you want porn 100% 24/7/365...f*ck off, we all want that :D

On a commercial station it should be whatever they want to air, if its rubbish nobody will watch it and their advertising revenue will fall.

With regards to the BBC is should be of interest to as many people as possible, not necessarily all the time but you should be able to find something of interest to justify the TV licence, an enforced subscription that all UK people with a TV have to pay, think its currently about £9 a month. The reason foreign types don't get iplayer. The BBC is not even close to being worth the TV licence, for me personally there is about 2-3 hours worth of exclusive watchable content a month.

hmm good one. I'd say bring stuff like Discovery World and Nat. Geo. channel into prime time. And GOOD movies. Really GOOD ones! People who actually enjoy Attack Of The Mutant Giant Snake From Hell In A Generic South American Or African Country Using Only The Worst CGI Imaginable Part VIII Straight To Video Release can go take a flying fuck.

Imo.

Attack Of The Mutant Giant Spider From Hell In A Generic South American Or African Country Using Only The Worst CGI Imaginable Part VI Straight To Video Release was good, after that it went downhill though.

The BBC should invest into bringing back good comedy.

In the past it produced Dad's Army, Blackadder, Monty Python, Red Dwarf, Only Fools and Horses, Absolutely Fabulous, Fawlty Towers, Yes Minister, Father Ted, Alan Partridge.. that's just off the top of my head, the list goes on for ages.

What do we have now? I cant think of anything.
