What should I upgrade?

Should I replace my ageing LG 19" 910SC CRT monitor or my Gainward 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 GLH or other?

What's more important to you, playing games or having a sexeh looking monitor?

Got a good processor / RAM?

I don't know much about nwidia's graphics cards so I don't know how good/bad that one is

Firstly Do you have a PCI-E slot or an AGP slot?


Personally if i had to buy an AGP graphics card i wouldn't bother until i was in a position to get a PCI-E card.

atm I am a P4 3.0Ghz, 1.5GB DDR RAM, Gainward 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 GLH AGP with an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe.

But I've already ordered the monitor [Samsung 930BF SyncMaster 19" TFT 4ms DVI 700:1 (1280x1024) Monitor in Black] - I can't afford to upgrade to PCI-E with all the extras thats going to need - new RAM, CPU and so forth atm at least hopefully in about 6 months

To be honest, neither of those seems so bad as to 'require' replacement right this instant. It depends how well off you are, though, I suppose. Unless you're the type to want to remain at the bleeding edge forever and ever, amen, I'd personally recommend spending the ~£300 you'd probably wind up spending on either a TFT or a new graphics card on something more worthwhile. Like betting on midget kickboxers.
