Agreed! Had expected more but was still awed by ...I thought it was a pretty disappointing finale.
I thought the Sylar/Peter showdown sucked. And kind of funny that Sylar could stop bullets but not some guy running towards him with a sword. Still, it's one of my favorite shows and the next season looks to be cool
I'm getting overjudgemental here, don't get me wrong, i love the show too. For a TV show, it wa good enough an ending for first season. Nothing special though. I was totally disappointed in the fight as they could've used SOME interesting ideas in a "final" showdown.
What they used? Peter went super"strength"(not really) and skylar used telekinesis. Yeah, two most uber guys there. Also the final "killing" of skylar could've been more "samurai" as hiro trained for it and all. Anyone could've ran him through.
And why couldn't peter fly himself up?
Skylar has been compared to a cockroach before, while in the cell there was crawling around, probably has something to do with a roachpower(or such) as a roach was on the sewer entry too.
That's about it from me.
Yes like you said anyone could have run him through, but the point of that was to prepare Hiro to kill him, not his physical ability but his emotional. Until his dad did helped him out with that and Ando ran off to try Sylar himself Hiro couldn't have done it. Peter probably couldn't have killed Sylar because he hasn't refined the use of his powers yet, only Hiro can completely neutralise his powers by stopping time. We got a taste of how cool Peter can be in Five Years gone.
If you got all the heroes with their powers all under control you won't have the awesome basis for the 2nd series that they had for the first. So I think (and hope) what we'll see is all our heroes continuing to learn about their new powers and how to use them.
So maybe it was an anti-climax in a flashy lights kind of way but in that last scene all our heroes finally came together into one place. Imo they've set themselves up for a great 2nd series. Wonder how many souls they had to sell for that addictive first series!
Thinking about it, Sylar must have some kind of healing power as he's had so many accidents..I'm sure I remember in one of the early episodes the psy-cop shot him and he just got up and ran away. Btw I'm sure it's spelt Sylar Toht.
True, i always say it wrong no matter what. Just sounds like that in my mind
Like i said, the cockroach thingy is something. Probably some power he picked up and wasn't told to the public(like the freezing things?). Hell, he was shot four or so times by officer whatshisface in the early episodes.
Actually wasn't talking about flashy lights to be needed, no need for them. But peter and skylar both have more control over their powers(like always going invisible when he wants etc) and that was just a BIT of lack of inspiration on writers part. This was just a "skylar does his darth vader choke, throws hiro and peter punches him.
It just seemed a bit rushed after waiting for 20some episodes for stuff to happen. Also i didn't need to see a matrix style superfight between hiro and skylar, and i get the sympolics in his training, but it was still a shortcut(much like the "end" battle was).
Sure, the coming together was all good and think they'll do more in second season, but it was still a bit disappointing after such hype.
Like i said, don't get me wrong, it was an ok season ending, but could've been better.
I kind of liked it that the less-than-showdown between Peter, Sylar and Hiro wasn't "all that" because thats not what the series was about.
But then I never read or heard about any of the hype, watched the series over a week after having it on my hard drive for a few months
Actually to me it is more about the superpowers and stuff that isn't normal, about evil guys and good guys and the gray lines between. The drama parts and other are secondary. To others it may be a "growth story" first or something like that. The series is just what people make of it for themselves. Can't say "This series is about xxxx"
The hype i meant was in the series, not somewhere on the net(which i never read), and you can't deny that the battle was talked about there all along the 20+ episodes. "Things will go boom" "We must stop him" "Oh noes ze Sylar!". All the time, every episode, epic battle coming and then...well...slapfight on the square wasn't exactly what was lead to be expected.
It was just an anti-climax after such a slow(yes the show is slow at times) build up to something grand.
Sylar had come back from the dead before in the lab of the paper guy. And Hiro stopped time so that Sylar couldn't stop the stabbing thing. What I'd rather like to see in the third series is a better showdown between Peter and Sylar - both have survived, Peter survived blowing up in "5 Years Gone" so I am sure that cutie isn't dead. Peter > Sylar - he doesn't have to kill to absorb powers.
Sufficed to say - loved the series.
Was well disappointing imo
Not heroes but a bunch of idiots with cool powers![]()
One of my favourite TV-Series ever!! It has even replaced Pokeeemon!!
I wonder how Sylar managed to get in to the sewer, he should have died.
And who's this guy that Molly gets scared about as he sees her when she thinks about him! new enemy of doomz0r!!! maybe he helped sylar in to the sewer!
