Halflife for me... no doubt - then daoc :p

especially the adrenaline gamer mod :> still think there is one or two ag servers with people playing there... but they got even leeter than when i played ;<

ofc, older games rocked ALOT, but its like newer games just make the concepts better..

FF7 on the PSX, spent so long playing that game, only thing i enjoyed more than Daoc.

Settlers 2/3 came close, but it's a different type of game etc.

Quake Team Arena i enjoyed quite a bit too.

Deus Ex, best plot i've played in a fps.

No contest there, never been any game that had the scope, size or freedom that game had. It was sheer brilliance for it's time, they couldn't reproduce it now in my opinion.

Hard to say, I've really liked alot of games in my time, would be very hard to count one above the rest.

Of the past greats, I really liked Wargasm, I think it was really underratted for its time, I can still play that game now, its graphics weren't far off of Operation flashpoints, in places probably better.

Half life ofcourse has a special place in my heart :) being 'the daddy' in a couple of different ways.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles was and is still one of my favorite games for sheer fun and simplicity. I recently bought another megadrive to play through the game again. Its just good fun, light hearted entertainment that you dont have to think for.

The first command and conquer was awesome, I loved that game and even now I still hear the commando's voice in my head saying "I've got a present for ya!" when I lay detpacks in Battlefields games and the like.

Diablo, my first ever RPG, was also a brilliant game. I loved playing it online and spent many hours on it, trading and fighting much like in DAoC.

Starcraft was a game I started a bit late in its life, after it was new, I found it on a shelf for £10 and bought it on a whim, ended up loving it.

Unreal tournament is another game that I really, really liked (and still like). It was the first 'arena' game I'd played and I remember after the first few hours on that game, I truely wondered how anything could even come close to that :)

Quake3 and CS had a lesser impact on me, I still think that these games were very good for thier time, but due to me being limited to a 56k and a poor computer at the time, I tended to stray away from online only or system-hungry games. I've played alot of Quake3 and a bit of CS since then, and i've really enjoyed them, but they havent had the same impact on me as UT did.

Since then there have been many good games, but few that really stand out. Recently I'd say call of duty 2 was superb, a really 'wow' game. battlefields 2 would have stood out for me, but for lag and GFX issues resulting in me not playing it much and not really getting the most out of it.

Hard to say which was the best in its time, for me I'd probably say Wargasm - the combination of superb graphics, really fun and fast gameplay and the challenge of beating the chinese campaign really did make it a great game.

hmm, difficult - played so many games over the years, half of which I have forgotten about. Some of the older classics really do bring back great memories. Heh, how many of you had some of these consoles?

Commadore 64 - Elite 2
Amstrad - Paperboy
Mastersystem - Double Dragon
CD-i - Zelda!! (used to have a attatchable gun for this :D)
Nintendo(Classic) - Super Mario Brothers or Donkey Kong
Sega Megadrive - Sonic
PS1 - Tomb Raider
PC - Half-Life & all its mods (duke nukem was great too)

Some of those listed are simply the only games I could remember :p

Used to have an olympic games which we used to have everyone playing for hours too which was great fun.. fencing was the best :p

Baldur's gate 2 (most captivating story ive played. ever)
Final fantasy 7 (story, characters, the world were so solid it sucks you in)
Deus ex 1 (when this came out i never knew a game could be like this way ahead of its time)
Half-life 1 (revolutionary all i need to say)
warcraft 3 (the story and journey you take is most epic ive seen, the world of warcraft changes in mass proportions in just one game and flows so well, for a strategy game its a first for me)
freespace (best and only flight sim i like, story is solid makes you feel like a real pilot)

A couple of great games here, but the one I'm missing would be Fallout, fantastic RPG that made me the complete RPG-addict I am today. Incredible in-game freedom, multiple endings, excellent character-development, great atmosphere.

Could mention so many games now. One game to rule 'em all is not enough ;)! My best game candidates:

Diablo II on PC - Addiction anyone? I don't want to know how many hours I've spend on this game.

DAoC on PC - A game that I've been stuck in for like 3 1/2 years, been a world of fun :)

Golden Eye on N64 - Amazing multiplayer fun with friends.
Super smash bros on N64. - Excellent mutliplayer game, endless fun!

Battlefield 1942 on PC - Loved this game, played activly in a clan for probably a year, had alot of fun. The combination of a shooter, with the ability of using all kind of vehicles, including tanks, jeeps, planes and the tactical aspects in clanfights was really unique.

WarCraft III on PC - Could have mentioned StarCraft but I was a tad late to join in on the StarCraft hype, WarCraft III on the other hand I played alot. WarCraft III was really fun online, remember playing in tournaments and ladder, was alot prestige and skills involved when competing. A game where experience and skills really mattered.

:)
