Yup, first learned it here too.

Person who is "suicidal looking", has a "hitler" style hair split(i think you call it), but longer, dyed black usually and listens to emo-tional rock/other genres while writing depressing poetry. Not that the poetry is sad, just depressing how CRAP it usually is. In basic, life sucks to them and everyone else is a drone, going with trends and other such immaterial things.

I like to call it "irony", but hey, that's me.

Your guess is pretty close to the truth. Emo is different from goth in fashion and music however. Emos have that haircut where they have longish hair that goes all over half of their face and they wear really tight jeans and take loads of photos of themselves all the time so that they can upload them on to myspace/facebook. Emo is a music style that is short for emotional-hardcore; or if that still means nothing to you; it's like rock music but where they always sing about how their life is really bad and how their girlfriend dumped them and other whiney topics.
