As Saggy says - nope. It just reduces the damage variance (and I hope increases the max damage?). It would be interesting to test 50 crossbow just to see how much damage a speed 5.0 crossbow would actually do . Not interesting enough to actually spend money on a respec stone though - I should have thought of this when Gorre was up.
Regarding the "go hybrid" comments - I'd rather not. I've heard a lot of hybrids are very happy with this spec - but its not for me. I find I don't block enough with 50 shield + moBlock3, so I really don't want to drop down to 42 shield and spec the ra's in a more offensive manner. Besides - I enjoy pve as much as rvr, where the mobs generally don't go through 2400 hp in 3 seconds
Thanks for your comments - the siege stuff isn't something I've looked at yet - sounds like there's an possibilty for action there. I'll have a play with the Diminutive siege apparatus, so if you hibbies and middies notice a little plate clad inconnu working a catapault with a big "L" plate (for learner) on the side - please leave me alone - I suspect I'll be doing more damage to my own keep than your's anyway
theres nothing wrong with tanks in open rvr, all u gotta do is play flexible, im not doing everything right 100% of the time, but i consider myself a pain in the ass for enemies atleast, the answer is : dmg output, as a warrior this is ofcourse easier, since i can use free 2h, arms will have a little more problems, but still managable, first off, u need to be BM ofc, 2nd u have to have good supervision of your groupmates + the enemy, picking out the right targets to interrupt and do dmg on. get a decent suit and cap qui, ask for haste and dmg add, and get a small shield. lets face it, the guarding days are practically over, only thing useful is guarding from ranger/hunter and that u can do just fine with a small shield. 4th : communication, the second u see or hear someone needing BG u should drop everything and go defend, or if u really need to keep interrupting tell him to run to you
tanks are highly underrated, they have alot of potential in rvr, now the rest just has to see it xd
Crookshanks, should try 50 pole, 42 shield, 34(39) thrust, 20(6) parry.(armsman sure is best as hybrid spec but if you enjoy your s/s then by all means stay it but you might love this spec if you give it a go for a week or so)
Then get a 5.9 dragon thrust pole and 250 quickness. You will lose around 4%(?) blocking and gain a lot more damage.(perhaps use gov+scalars+gem of lost memories with that too if you have the time/cash to get those)
I got a dragon pole if you ever want one, let me know.
