the Stone Temple Pilots.
I was sorting through a pile of old music CDs last night (circa 1993/4) (old??)
and I happened across STPs album, cant remember the name now, but its got Meatplough and Vaseline on it. This albums brill, banged it in me car for work trip this mornin, absoulutley fantastic driving music.

But, like I said, What happened to the band??

Dunno, but I know the story behind their name. The record company misheard the name over the phone, it should have been the Stoned Temporal Pirates.:D

LOL, sounds about right, I think the lead singer bloke was a right druggy, prolly died of an OD shortly after album release!!;)

The name came about by picking random words out of a hat.

In answer to the thread question: They've only just released a new album and are touring at the moment (afaik). I saw them at the end of last year at Brixton Academy and they were really very good. Some of the new stuff really rocks. They played some of the old classics too like Plush and Vasoline :D

Theyve just released an album "shangri-la-de-da"its a bit poo tho,the 1 u r on about willier is "purple"imo the best theyve done.Scott Weilland(lead singer)was close to death due to his large intake of drugs,but thankfully he be alive(albeit looking like a 6 stone lady-boy).
