What do you expect from your RvR druid?

In the future patch?

Insta Root wil become available to us with the next patch. Insta area root requires to have 36 in nature.
Most druids will have to respecc to get 36 in nature, so will have to drop some regrowth or nurture.

Dropping regrowth as a druid (for me) is a nono. So the template could look like this: nurture 19; regrowth 35; nature 36.
The yellow buff line will take a hit this way.

I would like the opinion of all classes what they rather have from their druid:
1) druid with insta area root, but rather crappy yellow buffs
2) a even specced druid, but with no area root
3) ...

I say the insta area root is worth alot more than the buffs.

But let me hear your opinions, so that in the future you cant complain at us poor druids

Well i think yellow buffs are important - Like other realms has buffbots.

In next patch the Bard gets even more crowd control, soo lets just hope invaders are mezzed until we want to gank em one by one.

As a pure Melee char. I would apreciate the yellow buffs as they mean a hell of a lot to us. Also i think the casters will like your INT buff, but i dot know how important it is for them.....


But for your char. specific, go for whatever make the game more fun for you, yes you can make your char a really good support char. - but that wont help if you don't think its funny to play, it will just end up with you playing alts or leave daoc in the long run.

I would have to say, as a bard that the insta area roots are dangerous and evil monsters, designed to break mezzes!

But seriously, the disadvantage with roots, as you probably know, is that if you get jumped, rooting an enemy wont guarantee that they dont kill you. You still have to get away from them, they can still DD, and nuke, and shoot arrows at you (from my understanding of root)

So in my opinion, the yellow buffs, and of course the insta heals, are more important to me in Pvp and Rvr.

Though, I agree that you should spec the char the way you feel you would enjoy, and not how people want you to.
You can be usefull with the Roots and Bigger pet etc, as well as with buffs IMO.

I wouldn't like to see RvR revolve around mezz/stun/root even more than it does now. Even if it is in my current realm's advantage.

If you do decide to go that way and drop the nurture line, you might want to consider speccing in the RA that boosts your buffs.

im respeccing to 40 nurture and 35 regrowth, 8 in nature. root suks in rvr, everytime i use it i risk breaking a hundred mezzes, so i might as well use the single one anyway.

And another question, is area root gonna be given the same tail off in duration at the edges as mez? If not then surely having a few insta aoe rooters will be handy. Gotta keep them tanks away from the mages!
Mages are easy dealt with using shades/rangers or a quick nearsight b4 bolting em.

Forever, I must say you are one of the best RvR dr00ds around with nice heals in the right moments. So gimping regrowt wouldn't be to smart I agree. Ae root sure is very handy to have, special after a bard mez, they use purge, you use root I don't really care much if the yellow buff give ~10 points, I'm happy as long as it's some yellow thingies at top of screen

Spec what you want to spec, and not what other peeps want you to spec

Well, dont forget all that in the next patch the bug about grp purge is fixed. What means when someone uses (grp) purge, they are immune for any effects during 60 secs (if this info is not correct, pls correct me

So, when our bard mezzes someone, the invaders do grp purge, I just cant root them back for 60 secs (I think).

So, does this make insta root any usefull? When the bards have insta mezz, you could say, root isnt necessary anymore.

Only timer wise: i think the insta's are on a timer of 10 mins. So if the bard is on the timer, the druid can use his Crowd Control.

And ofcourse, I will still do as I like
But its a nice discussion, one which could influence my decision alot.

My respec wil be none 12 nature 34 nurture 40 regrowth.
As i still think the UBER ress of 100% is very usefull in RvR.
Everyone who is gettting rezzed bij de last ress-spell will gain 100% HP and 25% Manna.....use GP and the person is ready to rock again.

I choose this spec cause i see a lot of druids going for their CC. So i dont think it is important that all druids have the same spec.
Also i still think my root sucks ass when i compare it so a stun/mezz from any other CC type of char.

And also i still think a druid is important for his buffs-heals and not the pet/root/DoT...
Not that i have anything against another spec, usefull to have different tpyes of specs in RvR

I would imagine they are immune to root also, along will all the other negative effects, for the 30? seconds after its used.

After respec it's either

Nature - 12

Nature - left over points


Not keen on CC tbh as u'd have to spec to much for insta root and i'm more a Buff/heal dr00d meself..

And 100% hp res sounds spinkii!

And BAH, like not all minstrels spec high instruments....and like any mentalist spec in mentalism. I would rather say light eld is hibs secondary mezzers.

"Wayspooled, Purge is only supposed to give immunity to whatever was on you when you purged. If you purge only mez, you will only get mez immunity not root and stun. If you purge mez and stun, you will get mez and stun immunity, but not root. And so on."

Well, the discussion was really this:
Should i give up NURTURE for nature to have insta root?

So, this is one point of discussion => so let me hear more about this issue.

Another point is wether you wanna go heavy on regrowth or nature?
Regrowth for me is a must for a druid (35 minimum i guess). But is this 100% rezz worth it when you have to make a choice between area insta root?

That rezz takes 12 secs to cast! 12 secs! In that time, I gave you a small rezz, give you a big heal and still have my insta root.
During battle you dont have time to cast a 12 sec spell! After battle you DO have the time, but then i also have the time to give you a heal. => some points of view here are also wanted

I think that rezz could have his uses still, but when i have to make a choice between that rezz and a insta area root, i choose the root.

Uber rez brings ppl back with 100% hp and 50% mana... atm my druid is 44 regrowth 23 nuture & 21 nature. After respec I was thinking of going 41 regrowth, 31 nuture & 16 nature. The buffs mean a lot to others plus you get the basic resist buffs. This will give you the middle of the road AE root. But this is my choice as I see my main job in RvR as healer/rezzer
