Website is good.

Navigation is easy, and pages are clear and what is there is easy to read.

phpBB is the most god aweful pile of forum software ever (IMHO), however if you are gona stick with it, I would sort out so you link back to the main part of your site. Currently once you goto the forum, there is no link back (other than the back browser button, or retyping in your url/pressing bookmark).

EDIT: for your navigation links i see you are using image maps. I would steer clear of these are they don't work in all browsers (though works fine here in IE and FF), and just normal anchor links :)

first glance, change the background-colour to something dark, less stressing to look at the site.
and eventually either make it a fixed size, anchor the bottom-bar to the bottom of the window or loose the "base" all together. Currently the site looks a bit jumpy (imo).

eventually add a highlighting for the links you're hovering about, easily done and shows that you can click stuff.

btw, don't get me wrong, the site looks nice already, but you asked for improvements ;)

another thing, loose the image you're using as menu, you can do that with plain text and some formatting too (Bar the Logo in the top left maybe). And you can edit it easier later on if demand arises.

silly 10min timer!

<grmbl> and make sure you don't put in some silly 10min timer for edits on your forum!

for the "About" and "Services" part, make some seperate sections for the points addressed there. The info for them will very like take up a whole lot more space than the current placeholders. And that'd be a immensly huge and hard to handle page ;)

and for the CSS information, best to put these into a seperate file. Same for Javascript if you should decide you need a bit there.

hmm, was this just a first scribble made in photoshop (or similiar) or an actual first attempt ?
Just wondering due to an overuse of images there ;)

It's good. And as a general tip. Take advice from others on content, maybe layout .. but not on design. No-one has the same taste and what is beautifull for one person is ugly for another.

Content however needs to be "to the point". And it seems that when you get around to filling it in it's going to be.

Thing about using images in stead of text with formatting is that people/browsers can fuck up the layout with setting bigger fonts etc... they can't do that with pictures.

However this is bad for people that use the options for larger fonts etc because they have bad eyesight.

Webdesign ... I'm so glad I'm out of that business \o/

Looks good - I do have few points tho :) Your main fram where all the info of each page is displayed, I would make it a scrollable frame rather than change the size to fit the size of page - if you know what I mean.

When you switch from "Home" to "Services" the size of the overall page jumps around which might hinder those who have low resolutions. If it were scrollable, the overall page would change size or become disproportionate :)

Also, the default text size seems a bit small :O But, well done on designing it so that when you increase the text size via the browser, most of the text actually does increase - You'd be amazed how many sites dont bother about those who cant read tiny writing, increasing the text size usually destroys the whole layout :) I would echo Cylian about the menu, use the text rather than the images :)

rather the other way around, remove "Location" from the "About" part.
"About" would be more like a little introduction about what "Hunter Gaming & Internet" is all about. "Contact" should cover the address and how to get there.

The navigation is very simple and thus good, but I think the forum should open its own page =)

Woo Good Luck with it Ad,

really hope it all goes well for you, webby looks alright but then im not an authority on the subject. what i would say is make sure you have all the information (or at least how to obtain it) any one might possibly need and that its easy to get to, i was on a webby for a local gym the other day and by gum it was damn hard work just to locate the price for a swim so make it noob friendly, noobs are people too.

aaany hoo well done on being gutsy enough to do this and i wish you all the best

It's very clear and easy to navigate, which is something I like on websites, no clutter getting in the way of the basic functionality of the thing.

The only minor caveat I have is that I would rethink the red-and-black colour scheme perhaps; a slightly more relaxing and less confrontational colour scheme might be a good plan.

Had this idea to practice CSS a bit, and well, tried to rebuild your page (well, just one for a start ;)) with just CSS. Well, that idea failed so far :p

couple of problems with this thing
a) it just doesn't work in IE (fine in Firefox <sigh>)
b) horrible coding (hrhrr)
c) one table in there (news header + date ... no idea how to position them without even more horrible coding ;))

on the bright side, it's 1/3 the size

CSS Hunter

guess I'll have to rethink my approach to that.

Just as a more miscellaneous comment. I did some primary research into the need for an internet cafe recently for a school project and I actually found out that computer lessons and tutorials, mainly on Internet related activites, like secuirty, shopping etc. are in high demand. Possibly something to consider as an upgrade.

I wouldn't include a forum. Chances are you won't get many subscribers to start with; this makes the company look small.
