Well, i'm off to Uni in September and i was wondering what the most important things to take to Uni are?

got me toothbrush and a missus, so thats a start :)

Ahahahaha... but seriously...

Here's a general Uni hint: Never bother buying 82.46% of the books you're told you need to buy because unless you actually go through the book in the practical/lectures, you will buy it and never ever read it. The Internet is a much richer resource anyway.

I bought a 3D graphics programming book on the advice of my lecturer which cost £60 (which is basically 3 months worth of rice and jelly rations) and did I ever use it? Dd I f....

what Durz says. another good tip, if you will be needing such things, is to find out in advance where the better materials outlets are around your uni. Ie where you can get specialised writing/photography/office/etc. kit.

There is not a lot you need to take to Uni really...

Just use common sense...work hard and play hard!

Just take the big important things

Computer
Clothes
Instrument if you play one
Stationary stuff

Don't piss around with small things you wont use because before you know it you'll be moving again and will have aqquired 6 boxes full of stuff you will shy at throwing away but dont really need.

Also dont assume the place you are staying will have ANYHTING.

I thought where I was in halls would have bog roll... but alas no it did not. Lucky i had that box of tissues :]

Not going to Swansea are you?

Halls of residence are fookin crap. In the brochure it says "Internet connection in every room" - turns out it's a NTL phone line where you have to pay 1p/min for 56k connection.

I moved out asap.

Only important thing I can think of is a box to hold loose papers. I've got bags full of them now and I can't be bothered to sort them out.

Im going loughborough next year. taking my Gap year at the moment off to france for 3 weeks then indian for a few months.

Depends whart course you are doing.

If you are doing an Arts degree then you need a spare liver for all the drinking you'll be able to cram in due to lack of work.

Otherwise you need a form to swap course ASAP :)
