What Digital Camera do you use for photos?

I still use a Kodak DC240, I bought around 4 years ago, and later upgraded to 64MB, it's not a great performer and a bit bulky but does me fine and takes reasonable pictures, I see no reason to change it right now.

One thing I noticed using a more modern camera is that they often miss out the additional information that can be stored in JPEGs, like the date, resolution, exposure, etc. My Kodak does all this, superb news for a camera of that age.

My only complaint is the rate it eats batteries, but I got a mains charger/adapter for using it whilst plugged in and transferring pictures, so they last a lot longer.

Canon Powershot A70. was £300 RRP at the time, but Jessops have a policy which they don't advertise too heavily where you can take printouts of best prices from the net, which they check and authorize. I found it for £230 online and they matched alright. Glad I did too, the power button broke after 4 hours of owning it so they replaced straight away, wouldn't have got that on net ;).

The girlfriend has a Cybershot U and it's very good, picture quality's ok but it's a doddle to use in a drunken state :) Robust as well, her's has a huge dent in the back and it still works fine.

I've just went and got a Sony DSC V1 and after using it for a month or two I'm not sure I made the right choice. The camera's great but I just can't stand the bloody flash :( it would probably help if I read the manual but that's in storage at the mo.

They did this for me too :)

Bought a Fuji S5000 which was listed in the shop for £350.

bit too bulky for me. I prefer to be able to carry my camera without having to have a backpack to carry it in

Jessops refused my pricematch :)

Found a Canon 300d for £781 with lens and free 2 year warrenty (on top of the canon 1st year) for free. They refused. Price was too low and they dont matcht he warrenty conditions, wont be getting it from them then :)

I had to get a cybershot-u to pocket and carry around for candid photos, because my 707 and 300D are too big to lug around on nights out...

And of course, being cameraman on nights out means I get to guarantee my fugly mug doesn't appear in the photos ;)

Who was the match with? They'll match any price but not added warranties etc generally... I know of two people who've had 300D's for less than that.

Of course, if the warranty isn't optional they can refuse on the grounds that they don't offer those specific warranty terms.

10x optical zoom and 'compact' don't mix.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P10 5 mega pixel here. Not too keen on the interface and there's a few features that you think would be present considering it's price tag (or I haven't found them yet). But I got it cheap, and I have my Nikon F-601 SLR for arty farty stuff. ;)
