Not disputing that but you can have just as much fun without having to buy beer or tequilla shots. I just think its pretty pathetic that most guys go into a pub and feel like they have to buy booze because that's what their friends expect them to do.

Depends what sort of person you are. Not drinking in a pub is completely different to drinking. You may have fun both ways, but with beer for most is much more fun; barriers are broken, conversation flows more freely, taboo topics are discussed.

I don't need beer to have fun, but sitting like a stiff drinking your orange juice just isn't as fun, simple as. PUB = BEER.

Aye, it is rude and I apologise. Ive already asked for Huntingtons to slag me off in a PM rather than here. He just winds me up with his childish obsession with me because I posted something he didnt like about 2 years ago.

You insult a lot of decent upstanding citizens when you say this. There's an awful lot of us folks out there who work hard all week, look after their friends and family well, and are generally responsible people who also like to go out and get blasted on a friday night.

Ask me what I can't live without, the short answer is beer.

The long answer is beer (or any other alcohol) is the catalyst, it tastes lovely, gets you light headed & ready to chew the fat with any poor sod you find. Have a few beers with a few mates & you'll learn a lot more about what drives them than you will in a year of chats over a cup of tea or a boardroom table. It breaks barriers, barriers we all carry with us, whomever we are, whatever we do.

If you don't like to drink, thats fine. Many people do. Climb down from that high horse & see that your opinion is no more valid than mine, or anyone elses. That's what makes life interesting.

Now of course there's many people who *really* couldn't live without alcohol. They are alcoholics. You would do well to stop assuming everyone who enjoys a drink is an alcoholic.

The world isn't black & white my friend - sooner or later you will notice this yourself.

Ye, people can have a decent job, a working family and still get blasted in the weekends. They can easily get addicted if they use it as an escape. Ok i was wrong to say people who said they couldn't live without alcohol should die, but they should get teraphy imo. I dont even think its fun joking about.
If alcohol were taken from me i wouldnt mind. Sure some things might get boring (such as dull family parties with 65+ people).
Some people change for the worse when they get drunk and get really unpleasant. Like kari. The way i read it when he gets drunk he wanna kick skinny people up. Bad way to abuse alcohol etc.
Ah well, i've lived without most things before, the material goods anyway, so dont see why i shouldn't be able to do so again.

It's exactly the same thing, people here write what things they would find life more dull without. Crisps and chocolate someone said... Well, tell him that he needs therapy, and that he uses chocolate as an escape from the dull every-day life. People here are not dead-serious. They are saying which things they like. I doubt you can show this discussion to a psyacrist(I really have no clue about how you spell this in english, please enlighten me ,)and he will then tell you that it's clear background for a long-term therapy.
