Overlooked is a relative term, the underground stuff has been sizzling for 10-15 years now whilst grunge thankfully killed the fake glam shit. Rather have a strong underground then mainstream acceptance.

Hate Eternal - I, Monarch

Br00tal! And shit, yo.

There will always hopefully be decent bands around, wether or not they have to be underground. I don't get the whole 'metal won't be good if it gets too popular' thing. I would much rather hear it on radios and TV than any other form of music most of the time. And as im the mildly argumentative type I feel a need to retort to the first section of your reply by informing you that I do infact listen to a good few 'underground' bands. :p

Hmm also pissed off now cause Hate eternal not playing London next week anymore. :/ Gotta live with Nile / Unleashed / Behemoth / Incantation / Soilent Green / Blood Red Throne.

I don't think metal ever will get that popular tho, mainly on account of it being utter shit.

Thing is, when something is underground it's creativly moving, you experiement, you bring in different shit, when you enter the mainstream bands almost always become stagnant creativly and quickly worsen.

Pelican - Australasia
