Rules

The main roles for these games include :

Villagers : the basic good guys, with no special powers
Seer : good guys, with the power to determine one players alignment each night
Doctor : good guys, with the power to protect one player from harm each night
Vigilante : good guys, with a limited number of kills at night
Werewolves : bad guys, they confer each night and decide on one player to eat
Serial Killer : bad guys, lone killers who murder a person every evening
Godfather : bad guys, wolves with a wolf pack, looking out for themselves

There may be more than one gang of wolves, and there may be other roles. Not all of the above roles may be included.

Last night, your town mayor, Will, was brutally murdered by werewolves. You know that there are werewolves amongst you, but you have no idea who they are. There is only one way to kill a werewolf around here, a good old-fashioned lynching. However, this is a democracy, so its time to vote. Whoever has the most votes gets lynched. You may discuss this as much as you like.

When you vote, please end your post with vote : lynchee or whoever you want to lynch. If you change your mind, end you post with unvote : lynchee then your new vote on another line. If you don't want there to be a lynching, end your post with vote : no lynch. Please put this in bold to make the mods life easier.

Once you have all voted*, lynching will happen at twilight, and then night will begin. At this point, the thread will close, and night actions will happen (the werewolves may strike again, the seer will investigate one player, etc). Once this is done, it will be dawn, I will reveal the events, and the thread will open again for another lynching.

*a deadline may also be set by the mod if the turn is dragging, or if the result has an overpowering majority.

The werewolves will win if they equal the villagers in numbers, and are the only remaining werewolf pack. The villagers will win if they kill all the werewolves.

Any postings by non-players will be deleted

Why in sods name do we have a democracy in a village at a time when there are werewolves around.

Can't we get a better government system? Democracy? What good did it do the greeks?

Total failure of a government system, what we need is a harsh dictatorship to lead us through these tough times and burn anyone with a hairy wart.

I may have been a bit hasty casting doubt on gunz without any proof. Vengence and hatred hasn't really worked for my family recently. I am going to consider this while intoxicated later on. I blame the Irish.

Will has been eaten AGAIN? Eat me once, shame on you. Eat me several times, and you have to begin to wonder if Will is just doing this for attention.

(I've even heard a rumour that he somehow... orchestrates these situations. I know, I know, it seems implausible, but rumour has it that he's actually the one who invites the wolves to the village in the first place.)

Anyway, my vote on the first day is always wasted, because I seem to home in on any medical types and innocents, and defend the werewolves. If the voting is still open tomorrow I will read through and cast a vote, but for the time being I will have to

because I am being called away to investigate a haunted building on the outskirts of town, and so the werewolves will have to wait until I have tackled the ghosts.

Before I go though - can anyone clarify the godfather role? I don't really understand it. Is it like a conventional werewolf, except this pack has to do what the pack leader says? So perhaps more likely to vote for their own wolves in order to protect the alpha male?

The godfather works for himself. He knows who all the wolves are, but the wolves do not know if he exists. He gets an extra kill each night, and he only wins if he is the only survivor.

I'm not a wolf, I'm a villager. However, someone had to stir things up, or else poor Will orchestrated his own death for nothing. All it takes for the wolves to eat everyone and then do disgusting dog poos full of scraps of villager clothing is for good people to stand by and do nothing.

I voted for you Jup because I like you, and knew you would bite back and get something rolling

However, seeing the way people respond has actually made me a little suspicious... Anyway, you know me - if I really was a wolf, do you think this is the way I'd behave?

I don't know Dams. I used to think the minute you were made a wolf you'd be crying and apologising more than you'd be eating us, but now I begin think life in the village has hardened you.

Heh, I would hate to be a wolf. It's the reason I skipped a session before I joined this village, because I was convinced that it was about due to be a wolf, and I didn't want to be one I couldn't even kill the dolphins in Captain Planet the computer game, even though that was the easiest way to complete the level, so chewing on the corpses of fellow FHers would be horrible.

But like I said, someone needs to stand up and start going round kicking shins until a villager accidentally growls in response, and since nobody else wanted to do it, I stepped up to the plate.
