The Fallen

Rubric : Villager, Eaten night 1
pez : Werewolf, Lynched day 2
itcheh : Doctor, Eaten night 2

Rules

The game setup is open, and has the following roles

1 Werewolf
1 Werewolf Roleblocker
1 Seer
1 Doctor
3 Villagers

Villagers : the basic good guys, with no special powers
Seer : good guys, with the power to determine one players alignment each night
Doctor : good guys, with the power to protect one player from harm each night
Werewolves : bad guys, they confer each night and decide on one player to eat
Werewolf Roleblocker : additionally the roleblocker can stop one persons night action from happening

Last night, your town mayor, Will, was brutally murdered by werewolves. You know that there are werewolves amongst you, but you have no idea who they are. There is only one way to kill a werewolf around here, a good old-fashioned lynching. However, this is a democracy, so its time to vote. Whoever has the most votes gets lynched. You may discuss this as much as you like.

When you vote, please end your post with vote : lynchee or whoever you want to lynch. If you change your mind, end you post with unvote : lynchee then your new vote on another line. If you don't want there to be a lynching, end your post with vote : no lynch. Please put this in bold to make the mods life easier.

Once you have all voted*, lynching will happen at twilight, and then night will begin. At this point, the thread will close, and night actions will happen (the werewolves may strike again, the seer will investigate one player, etc). Once this is done, it will be dawn, I will reveal the events, and the thread will open again for another lynching.

*a deadline may also be set by the mod if the turn is dragging, or if the result has an overpowering majority.

The werewolves will win if they equal the villagers in numbers. The villagers will win if they kill all the werewolves.

Starts the ball rolling...

With such a limited number of us in the village, I think the only sensible course of action on the first day would be to not lynch, and give our seer a chance (albeit a small one) to try and find one of the wolves amongst us.

If we get really lucky, the doctor may also be able to protect an intended target, but I guess that's hoping too much.

Vote: No Lynch

at least theres no vigilantes, from watching the other games it seems like giving someone a license to deal out justice ends messily

No lynch is not a good tactic ...

We are 5 normals and 2 furries

I am not a furry, which means I have a 2 in 4 (50%) chance of picking a wolf to lynch

I like those odds ... I don't have a 'blood lust' ... I just want to protect my home and I don't want to sit here and be picked off by the wolves and do nothing.

I say a 50% chance of being right is worth the risk.

If we lynch a normal (hopefully NOT the Seer) then all we do is give the Seer BETTER odds to spot a furry overnight.

Voting no lynch plays into the Wolves hands

Having said that I'm not ready to vote yet until I see what other people have to say.

Actually, you have a 2 in 6 chance of picking a wolf (33%). The problem is that if we pick wrong, 2 villagers die tonight which means if we don't guess right tomorrow, it's game over.

If we don't lynch, we lose one human tonight, but then there are still 4 humans vs 2 furries, and we might get some help from the seer.

Voting no lynch only plays into the wolves hands in a closed game with more people, the rules are different here.

Surely though if you don't lynch you are just putting it off for another round, sooner or later you have to risk killing a villager

Yes, it's a risk either way, because we're gambling on the seer not getting eaten, and being able to give us some info tomorrow to further narrow down the odd against the wolves.

Lynching today means that as a villager we have a 1 in 3 chance of also taking out a human with a role that can aid the village

Gawd, I think I'm going to move to a town. Somewhere with lots of ordinary folk, and maybe a neighbourhood watch.

I've always been an advocate of lynching someone on the first day, but I'm willing to give no lynch a try unless someone can give me a compelling reason not to.

I'm still not convinced that doing nothing is a good course of action ... years ago my family was blighted with lycanthropy and my great great grandmother told me 2 things:

1. If in doubt, burn any woman in the village by the name of Damini
2. No lynch is a bandwagon that wolves jump on immediately because no lynch = safety for wolves and an easy kill at night.

Fortunatley my relatives were killed - one was successfully burned by villagers.

My maths might be bad, but a 1 in 3 chance of being right is still acceptible to me - I'll pick a 'no lyncher'

Is gunner440 even aware this game is running? He hasn't posted or voted yet.

I've sent a receipted PM. If I don't get anything back by 5pm, I'll replace him with someone else.

Ok, now that everyone is here (;)), thats 4 no lynch, 2 for itcheh, 1 for pez.

I'll close up at 5pm, give you all a chance to decide if you are really sure you want a no lynch.

And the no lynches have it. A cup of tea and a nice sit down instead of a burning.

Please PM me your night actions.

And in the morning, you find the body of Rubric, eaten by wolves.

Pez's last minute vote change strikes me as suspicious. I'm not going to be around again until evening, so I'll get my vote in now.

Hmmm, that's slim, if he'd voted for Itcheh at the change in the hope of swaying one of the other no lynchers then I'd be more suspicous but he voted for gunner, I'll withhold judgement until he can give an account of his actions

Ahhh, the well known Ch3tan syndrome...it's been seen in many villages in times of crisis...I think we need to keep an eye on him...

Well I hope the Seer is going to come up trumps now - otherwise the whole 'no lynch' tactic is going to bite us in the bum (literally!)

Not that I'm one to advocate tit-for-tat voting ... it is however a very human response ... which is why I'm surprised Pez didn't vote for me even though I voted for him. A 'less than human' response you might say?

I'm sticking to my guns:

Surely by that logic you would have voted rubric or gunner?

where is Rubric these days?

I think we're probably screwed unless our seer wants to stick their neck on the line and help limit down the options. Otherwise we lose two players tonight, and it's 2 v 2 and the wolves win.

If I'm going down, I'm taking someone else with me this time.

vote Gunner
