Heh, been 3 years since i last went :)

The new 'Air' thing, that they've been bosating about, is a work of brilliance. I'd have to say, it's perhaps the most "fun" rollercoaster i've ever been on. You'd think that the way you dangle above the ground, that it'd be scary, but it isn't... Far less than most rollercoasters.

It's perhaps one of the smoothest coasters i've ever been on, which really adds to the sensation of flying... Anyone who goes to AltonTowers this year _must_ go on it...

We were even luckier, in that when we went round that area of the park, everyone had allready gone on it, so the queue was only 35minutes... We actually only queued for 25, which is a good time for any ride, let alone the biggest, newest, and perhaps best ride there :) It really helped, that it was absolutely pissing it down, till gone 2pm... I'd take tons of rain over bigger queues anyday ;)

Theme parks own :D

Oh, and if anyone's interested, an annual ticket(For adults), is only £60... That's barely more than the price of 2 tickets... If you went 4 times in one year, you'd have easily gotten good value for it. Deffinately something to think about doing next year :)

Never been to either of those(Southern theme parks? ), however AmericanAdventure is pretty close to us(Just inside of derbyshire), and DreytonManor(spelled wrong i know) isn't too far away either.

AltonTowers deffinately is the daddy of UK theme parks. Today is a term day, most proberbly a work day for most, and is just a few days before special "School trip" prices are offered by AT, so it seemed a safe bet that the crouds wouldn't be too bad. As i allready said, it'd been raining non-stop since last night, till lunch time today, which proberbly kept even more away.

Despite this, the queues for Oblivion and TheBlackHole were 50minutes each(for us at least), so it's fair to say that AT don't struggle when it comes to gate takings. I think they're introducing a new water ride next year(mentioned breifly in map, and construction work was evident), so it's proberbly just going to get harder for the other theme parks.

I know AmericanAdventure has gone into Bancrupcy before, and it's not hard to see why, when AT is building a major new ride every other year.

But, back to the point - If you go to AT, make riding Air your first priority :) I'm just a little annoyed that i didn't buy the ride picture - For a change, it was actually a really good one, of me and my sister :/

I went on Nemesis once about 7 years ago. I had a terminal phobia of anything that went upside down and my friends forced me on it :(. Horrible it was - too jerky. I'd want to go on all the big rides there now, but just haven't had the chance to go up there (it's fecking miles away).

oh and Shocko, the Midlands is far removed from heaven on earth. It comprises of Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Wallsall, Cannock, Stafford and Stoke for starters. The prosecution rests.

As Bodhi says...I would never put the words "midlands" and "heaven" together. More like "midlands", "Dante's" and "Inferno".
