I'm a bit on the fence to report or not, as i don't know anything what they looked like, or have anything concrete, so it's kinda pointless to report when you can't get anything done, right?

To get your phone replaced you will need a crime number (at least in the UK) so you will need to report to the police. Largly pointless here in the UK they just take your story and give you the number the amount of muggers that get caugh is slim

Exactly why i'm on the fence, especially as my phone wasn't lost afterall.

Hell, the cards are invalid now and the only "loss" really is my pride, 30-40e and my jacket.

I had a pone stolen once not mugged i went to the police took me 5 minutes to get this crime number i asked the guy to i was talking to what would happen. And he said honestly nothing no one was hurt insurance will pay for the phone theres no point investifgating I would deffinatly report it just on the off chance the gang was caugh on cctv some where but i can see why you would think its pointless.

If you had the info for the phone you could always report it in, that way if someone tries using it the things locked out. But yeah, who'd go out thses days? Two years ao, a bloke about a mile from were I live got attacked and killed by three little bastards for a lighter, A FUCKING LIGHTER!

Like was said above in England people get beaten and killed for the stupidest of things. This week 2 people went to jail because they killed a disabled person. They had a £5 bet who who could knock him out and they kicked him to death. So nothing surprises me.

No idea. It wasn't my usual route, and i was trotting along by myself, os i think it was random.

the funny thing is, it was a "do good" day, helped an older person get up after a fall, held open doors, did nice things, cleaned up at apartment etc etc, and then get mugged.

I'd say Karmas' a b*tch, and someone needs to fix her by shoving a wrench down her throat, a 17 foot dildo up her bum and by repeatedly shveling nails and lognuts down her fanny, but that would be understating it a bit.

Sorry to hear that oldT. Like was said though - you need to report for insurance purposes, and also it contributes when they compile crime figures for regions. Theory is they cant do anything about crime, like patrolling danger areas, if they dont have crimes reported.

Well, i don´t really believe in karma. I believe in randomness! Tho you can rest assured that people who takes that path, stealing from others often ends up in a dumpster sooner or later, or something along those lines.

Not the place i thought i'd get mugged, but ahwell, money is replacable, jacket i get a new one, mp3player can buy(cheap anyway), creditcards are in the mail and i'mmostly alive with some brusing and a bit sore ankle.

all in all, a very pleasent experience, where muggings go that is.

My house was broken into 2 years ago just before xmas.

Police arrive and looked for figerprints or any other stuff. Nothing found.

I asked around in my local pub. Its a bit of a den but eventualy someone came up and told me who had done my house over. He even showed me where he lived.

I phoned the police and gave them the options. You get him or I will.

2 days later his house was raided. Police did him for numerous offences including the break in to my house.

I know i know, don't, it's pointless, not my fault, but when this kind of thing happens, you start thinking of the things you could've done to avoid it. "why did i do that..why did i walk there...why didn't i..." etc.

I also recall you saying something like this on someones elses thread. You told us how you never get in these situations and even when you do you can usually avoid it without confrontation.

Simple fact of the matter is that unfortunately for us normal folk there is always someone out there that regardless of how you act/where you walk, they will try and take advantage of us by means of violence.

I am glad you are ok, I had a friend who was mugged and it hit him really bad.
