Minorities.....

And btw i can't understand why everyone /saluting the Mids. Making a relic raid when you know that the most of the people will be in an other sever (PvP) is like you make a raid 5:00 in the morning. So no big deal. Lets face it the mids made the relic raid at that time cos they new that the most of us will be at pvp server, simple. Do you expect me the cheer at this? Can't do nothing but call it just lame.

But the relics are ment to change hands after all making the game more interest. So i don't mind at all.

Congratulations Middies, a very well planned relic raid:)

I had loads of fun at the MMG in Hadrians, mids on one side, mids on the other side and /em on the wall..Then changing to mids on one side, albs on other side and /em on the wall.
<grins>Although it would´ve been harder if Albs actually had brains;)

It is sad to read how we missed change after change to at least keep 1 relic. I was bashing the door at eras when you where in. The raid was well planned (luck?) with albion having a Legion raid planned and the PvP server just online. We had only 55 level 50 online at the time.

Organisation of the defence was very poor. Despite good efforts from some people we got whiped at the mmg due to stupidity and good middie organisation.

I am not going to congratulate you because you are stinking mids but i respect the skill & organisation of this raid.

Missing out on /as was a pain. Hope guildranks are edited this evening.

And greats to the poeple who ran the show :), cool regardes to teh hibis for showing hearths and trying to take the relics for them self.

What was damn amusing was the Albs streaming, spread out, to Hadrian's wall. They weren't bunched (zerg) and paid little attention to our little 'pick up' party. I mean, we ran right into you, killed a few, and were promptly ignored. Only moments later to meet up with Azal, and escort him - probably parallel to you all - to the MMG.

It was great, and two facts come to mind.

a) People are blind and run with horse blinkers on - We ran past right behind a horde of Hibbies and past Albs.

b) People STILL don't know their own frontiers well - we were able to easily bypass ALL the fighting in Hadrian's to get Azal home.

To try say that Albs had fewer people online is lame. There are just as many Mids that went to Camlann as Albs.

Blood, nice story. :) /protect /guard /intercept. ;)

Hmmmmm, they cant use stealth while they carry the relic and they have to run at normal run pace. No speedbuff etc. :p

Everyone I spoke to when we were cooking this up really chuckled at the idea of a relic raid on PvP Day. Actually, we were waiting for the treehuggers and bucketheads to try the same thing. We figured at the very least we'd be ready if they tried something.

We knew we would have lower numbers than would normally, just like the defenders would have. It was a calculated risk, but because the idea tickled us all so much we couldn't resist it.

The whole time we were preparing then moving to Excalibur I was waiting for a message that Albs or Hibs were moving on our frontier in numbers.

We didn't know about Legion. I heard about that when we were on our way to Excal (I think, it may have been a little before that, I'm not sure). Have to admit, I thought Yay! Some luck finally. (some of the prep for the raid had been less than lucky, though I can't talk about details here ;))

Some highlights (in no particular order):

Standing inside excal waiting for the albs to come, then as they started arriving I was chain mezzing the door area like a fury til I went down. The lag was so bad I wasn't sure if I'd missed a vital message so I didn't know if it was only a few albs or the entire nation.

The time when the second relic carrier was in jeapordy is some of the most nailbiting moments since playing this game. I was in svasud at that point trying to organise the rescue and was getting conflicting info - albs/hibs/martians/etc attacking the MMGH and some confusion as to the location of some of our people.
Key people had LD'd and we were struggling to get teams to protect both relic carriers at one point.

On door 2 I started getting PM's about how to spec a Spirit Master.

My group was on the road to Mjol, checking for enemies when Azal's crew came through with the relic. We couldn't keep up because we didn't have a skald. Missed both relics getting to the keep for similar reasons but I went along afterwards for a look.
I've never seen so many mids patrolling the road to Mjol like I did last night.

To the Albs:

You will get your relics back. You know it, we know it. The fun comes from the attempt. Two weeks ago you showed everyone what you guys can achieve with sustained raids over 3 days that came within a hair at some points of succeeding. And provided some of the best fun on Prydwen in months.

Our fun comes from trying to stop you. And as a realm we're waiting ;)

To the Hibs:

LOL you guys, complete respect. The Hibernian cunning is a thing of wonder. Trying to get the relic in transit last night added an immense amount to the fun. I was waiting for the message that you guys had stolen the relic off us. It was just unlucky timing. A few minutes either way and you might have got it.

There's always people in DF that don't come on raids and stuff and who never log from there. I think there was someone nearby as you guys were zerging. Remember DF is the preferred hunting grounds of some rogue types ;)

Of course you do. Had it been an Alb raid you would have been standing with your fellow realm mates cheering. Then it wouldn't have been lame in your eyes but a tactical move, so who cares what you say?

Congratulations Middies for what sounds like a successfull Relic raid. I agree with Roo that when big raids happen those are usually the high points in the game.

Unfortunately I logged on last night only just when you had escaped Excalibur with the relics, but heard enough over /as. Twas like sitting in the car listing to a football match, though it was actually on a horse to Sauvage with Unitys RvR channel tuned in (which beats any football game in my opinion) :) And that is something for Unity last night.... is that the /as seemed to work very well with good reports in general.

And for sure the fun will continue when we come for them again...

Great screenies Bloodied btw

Cheers,
Padre

We had someone around the alb DF entrance who told us he'd just seen 40+ albs roughly enter DF which was a fairly good indication of a legion run - heard that when we were right outside Excal about 5 mins before we pulled the guards.

Running solo through pennie was hair raising :) only just avoided a couple fg albs before I got to the north ZW and saw the very welcome sight of a huge green troll (big G) come looming over teh horizon.

Great sight running from svasud - mjoll with literally 30 mids on the road to mjoll covering it and another 20-30 spread out around the keep just in case.

Too many points to cover, nicely planed raid, grats to Roo

Surely you mean W-E N-S :)

Oh, and I would like to take the opportunity to point out that im a hero because I fired group instaheal just when Azal ond Bloodied had grabbed the relics and were heading out of the RK, at which point the whole group were at 50%-ish hp. I managed to aggro a very evil Berkstead Knight and died but the relics got away.

An honourable death all FOR MIDGÅRD! :)
