I'm just doing some light debating on a more serious forum, allthough there's only 2 others there, so it's slow.

This forum is nowhere near the point of serious debate, so i'm hardly likely to hang about here.

i think dress to kill is my fave, probably coz it ws the one i saw first and i was unprepared for him :) i love hte characters that he uses in all his shows, james mason as the voice of anyone, mrs badcrumble etc :D i love him :)

i'm partially dyslexic you know. i was fully dyslexic until i met someone who was more dyslexic than me and he said "nahhh, you're only partially dyslexic." there's a lot of rivalry in the dyslexic camp. that's "rivalry" with 3 v's

For me it's more between Jasper Carrot, Mark Lamaar or John Cleese. Within barrysworld though, I'd say Lead Nibbler, Damini and Someguy :)

Personal tastes, of course...

as i said earlier in the thread, izzard is the only stand up comedian who has literally made me cry laughing... ben elton has his moments (especially as an author)... hmm, who else... jasper carrott (sp?) yes, alan davis as well...

Some very strange choices here. Mark Lamarr? Frank Skinner? Jasper Carrott?

Each to their own, personal taste and all that, but Jasper Carrott? Brummie jokes about getting stuck behind a particular type of person in traffic? Jokes about visiting the supermaket? No thanks!

with some comedians, it's not so much to do with their content, it's the way they deliver it that is funny. imo anyway.

You gotta watch the Paul Merton show, Mon-Thurs Paramount Comedy Channel @ 12:05 (am). It's old, but deffo one of the funniest shows ever.

Billy Connolly in stand up is the funniest man on earth.

I remember listening to one of his albums years ago when I was a kid, and I was literally doubled-up on the floor crying with laughter. I could hardly breathe I was laughing that hard.

The man simply owns :D

Work again. That's the depressing thing. :( I'll be falling asleep curled behind a server by 10am.

The only benefit is that I have plenty of time for a top-notch breakfast. I might even go in early for a trip to the canteen. Freshly-cooked bacon, mushrooms, beans, hash browns, fried bread with a little coffee and fresh orange on the side. Yumtious.

well blah. there is a (kind of plausible) reason why i'm up at this time... i'm waiting for the stupid electricity key meter to drop to 50p credit so i can switch it over to "emergency" so it doesn't die on me half way thru the night. it was at 62p last time i checked :(

sigh... 52p... :(
