Weird LCD problem.

Thanks to recommendations from Nath, Dagaffer et al in the hardware forum, I purchased this widescreen LCD/TFT from Misco, to replace the 9 year old 17" Dell CRT I've loved for many a long year.

Now it's been fine, (nay great!) so far, and I have just now installed the DVI-DVI cable I got today to replace the standard DSub-DSub cable I got with the monitor.

Problem is I now have a flickering pixel.

It's invisible and not a problem when the screen is light/white in the area of the weird pixel, but when it's dark in that area it flickers green-ish. Not solidly, but it flickers like a little green star in the inky depth of cold harsh space as seen through an atmosphere.

I don't want no stars dammit!

I think it may be a stuck pixel, rather than a dead pixel, but is there any way to unstick it?

PS: I know this should be in the hardware forum, but in here sees more traffic than over there ever does.

Update - it's now disappeared, but I assume it will be back...

Well, if it does it again, read carefully, especially the caveats about it possibly causing more problems.

P.S. That was the first hit Googling for "lcd tft stuck pixel"

I'm a lazy bastard, I know. But google hasn't been my friend over the past few days, so I thought I'd ask the peeps here, as they're always reliable.

As has been proven :D

Cheers Athan ;)
