Confused Weird issue with a Word Document

[Access Denied]

So my mate has given me some space on one of his servers so my friend can get round her Uni firewall without killing my internet connection. I've run into a weird issue. I put a word file on there so I could access it anywhere. However, when I try to read/download the file it comes up as blank.

Anyone got any ideas?

How are you downloading the file and from what kind of system? If it's just an FTP dump or similar check the file size is not 0. Wouldn't it be easier to just e-mail files or use google drive, etc? or are you being naughty?

Try zipping the file

Right-click the downloaded file, select Properties, click the Unblock button at the bottom.
