Im playing Daoc and lately i've had a gfx bug. My computer can suddenly freeze for several seconds and after that the screen looks like this. I have to reboot computer to get rid of it. In that state i can play but it can freeze again for several seconds which can result a total crashing - can only reboot. My gfx card is GeForce fx5200.

If anyone happens to know what might cause this or how to fix it i'd be very greatfull.

Have you upgraded the drivers lately? or modified the computer in any way such as overclocking etc? Looks like graphics card is overheating to me, but then I dont know that much! :)

Idiot answer:
DAoC is a virus that kills graphics cards. Delete DAoC.

Sensible anwer:
Have you tried to overclock the graphics card in anyway? Did you change anything before it started doing that?

Updated drivers before or after the problem started? If before then try and roll them back. Does it happen in any other games? Try doing a stress test on it using 3dmark or some other program and see how it copes with those

edit: also go to memtest86.com and try that program out there, it might be your RAM gone bad

I remember when some driver update started fucking with the graphics on BF1942. Try a rollback as jaba said.

I updated drivers when the problem had already started. It also happened in UT2k3 before it came to Daoc which i find pretty odd.

Did you try the memory test program and the other tests?
Do you have a spare graphics card you can put in the machine to see if its the card that is at fault?

I ran 3dmark and it crashed right after starting the test. Got a message like this (badly translated to english): "A hardware problem has occured, save your work and restart the computer"

Btw sorry i typed my gfx card name wrong before. It's GeForce fx5600, thought i could share this info from it if you find anything odd in it:

How did the memory test go?
It sounds to me like the card is dying/dead...try the machine with another card in and see if it runs 3d mark ok then.
