If in your dream you are charged with 100 odd counts guandary, does that mean you should probably just make your mind up about what is bugging you in real life? :p

I don't touch the stuff, always been a great believer in sort of your subconcious mind telling you whats wrong with you through the medium of dreams. So I guess I will sit down and make my mind up!

Why do women always mess your life up lol. :(

RL stuff definitely impacts the sub-conscious resting mind. Sometimes its not your RL problems that you dream about, but themes / images relating to deep-founded fears, phobias, ambitions, etc

Eg you might have a bunch of problems that you're trying to deal with in your waking hours, but at night you dream about a toilet with massive teeth chasing you down the street. Whats that about? Fear of being caught because you said / done something you shoulnd't have ? Fear of toilets ? Fear of fear itself?

Naturally i'm fucking up my q and g :p quandary is the word:

1. a situation from which extrication is difficult especially an unpleasant or trying one
2. state of uncertainty or perplexity especially as requiring a choice between equally unfavorable options

Worrying about things is pointless, thinking about things is needed, but only thing that matters is "thing->decicion".

Faster you realise thinking won't change a decicion to anything more then it is, aka 50/50 choice, the happier you'll be.

Well..happier as in less worried.

Go out, yes/no.
See this girl any more, yes/no.

etc :p

The curious case of Sir Ian McKellen aged 104.

Hmm, looks a little more like Patrick Stuart to me, any other takers? :D And I love dreams... if you've got a day to sleep in, eating a slab of blue cheese a couple of hours before bed (with crackers or something) will really mess with your mind :D

Lucid dreaming is great fun too if you can identify that you're actually dreaming at the time (training your mind to look for clocks which will appear garbled and turning on/off light switches in a room but having nothing happen are a sure fire way orf identifying the dream :))

Yes I do beleive they are more then just random occurances, there was an intersting documentary on iplayer not so long ago which managed to link dreaming to a lot of our learning in life; trying to resolve problems which the waking life can't tackle effectively.

I'm with kirennia, it's old Patrick McCaptain for sure :D

And yes, lucid dreaming is alot of fun.

Even heard of lucid time control of sorts, spending a full day, even days, in a dreamworld in just the small amount of time you do sleep.

Yes, it's called death ;) (Not the only instance but you reminded me of it)

While the period of sleep that you dream is only very small, you experience a much longer timeframe while in your dreams. In death, most peoples brains will be active for a much much longer period of time then your usual dream. There's a theory that an active brain for just one minute during death could signal what seems like days of dreaming time. It sure would explain peoples explainations of their life flashing before their eyes.

Maybe it doesn't flash, it in fact plays out at an accelerated time, over again, preparing you for death, learning what you've done right and wrong over your lifetime to change your choices in whatever the next scenario of 'life' you play out next. If correct, it's a beautiful thing really...

I tried to avoid the mention of REM as it's not the only time during sleep that you actually dream, nor is it guaranteed that when you're in REM you'll be dreaming.
