Weird Divx / CD prob

Every time I burn a divx to CD (As in, just burning the .avi to a data CD through nero, not encoding to mpeg and burning as vcd) it will play fine if I open it directly from the CD, although if I copy it to HD, I get 9 seconds. This Nero's fault? Or my CDRW (Acer 20x10x40) being shit? This happens with every single DivX i burn, and is extremely annoying.

An odd suggestion and the only one I can think of, given the ignorance I posess of the subject.

Create an ISO of the CD on your hard drive, and attempt to extract the divx from that - I don't really know if this would achieve anything, it might indicate your CD-Rom or CDR is at fault, or something.
