Cant imagine any tank / light tank with soj tbh, and casters soj? Sad joke. Some classes could use a 3rd ml line, but others are allready oped with what they got. Especially after armour resist table 'fix', when would be almost pointless to use lws, and everyone runs with buffed cl / bb resists, warlord on stealthers and battler charge will make fights last like 2 paladins dueling ><.
Where almost everyone uses their ml abilities to interrupt / cause damage / increase damage / reduce damage, as a scout cant think of any ml path above soj that could make a significant change (and soj abilities mostly used for get away attempts than provide a free kill).
This whole 3rd ml line thingie is a bad bad bad ideea, and will shake ballances all over game, be it 1v1 / 8v8 or zerg vs zerg.
PS: yes some classes needed a ml change, but instead of fixing that you give everyone a new one?

Here mates have fop!, by the way your main enemies (Assasins) get warlord..so now they have the same defence as you but also debuffs and a higher dps LOL! its fun fucking up your class..oh and by the way...you'll still never get groups

I'll tell you what I don't get, in the original post Sanya is suggesting that it took months if not years to create, balance and assign the current ML lines. Yet they seem to think that they can just add another line to every class without there being any balance issues. Who thinks they took a holiday for 6 months then came back, thought up a variety of stupid abilities and then drew them from a hat to create the ML lines?

What I'm presuming is that most classes will get a useless line that has no relevance to their role and that no-one will ever spec (givf Convoker Armsmen!!!1) but one or two classes will recieve a line that spectacularly overpowers them either in 1v1 or FG fights. This way, Mythic can justify it with their usual "we balance the game for RvR, not XvX" line they trot out at times like this.

My current favourite bets are that some line with spammable DDs will get Perfector, not a line caster, but maybe something like a cleric/thane/VW or similar. Another good possibility would be something like an IP-using stealther with Banelord, probably Minstrel but Rangers too.

What else would be totally unbalanced...Thane with Battlemaster for grapple?

That would at least make 2 svgs a bit less desired in a grp and svg+zerker a bit more balanced, who knows, like champ+bm or merc+¿reaver?

Q: Sanya, why must you hold out on the new ML line info? Come on, cough it up.... can't you even tell us how it is being determined and what rules are being set up around it?

Um, yeah, off topic. So, on topic: The meeting to decide the "third line" stuff is next Wednesday afternoon. The whole Herald team is watching feedback on message boards and the emailed forms very closely, and taking that material to the meeting. We also have a discussion going with the class team leads, and they are providing us with data as well. We might start seeing the actual additions in 1.84D, but I doubt it'll end in that version.



Please note - many of you have asked for an entirely new line. That is not possible with our schedule, guys, I'm sorry. A totally new line is the stuff of months, and even with months would be drastically out of whack with the others. If you want to provide feedback, be sure to use the existing lines as your starting point. If you're positive you want a particular line, it would be VERY helpful if you mentioned reasons. And if you would mention those reasons in short, easy to tally bullet points, Missy and Richard would be very grateful.
