How long is the time period between uploading the info and actually seeing it on the web?uke:

Well... it's instantaneous. Once you upload it, there it is! Fully viewable.

Do you mean how long does it take the various search engines to realise it's there? If so, you could be looking at 2-3 weeks, even after you tell them about your webbeh.

depends entirely apon where/what sort.

If it is on an FTP server or similar then you upload your pages and they are available immediately.
This is affected by your ISPs caching, which can sometimes bring up the old page, but a hard refresh will sort that.

Again, using some sort of CGI script to update pages will also be immediate.

So unless you have some sort of moderated system or a bad webhost then it should all happen as you do it.

what i mean is on the BW web hosting. Ive uploaded my info on CuteFTP onto my site but i dont see it there. All ive done is drag and drop stuff to the site through the FTP program. I havent seen any OK or confirm button so i closed it out afterwards. So far nada info. ill try resending it.

I believe that barrys did/do have tutorials on how to upload websites properly to your site. Have u tried following that? (It'll be somewhere in the hosted sites help).

Alternatively, and this maybe a useful tip anyway - you could get WS_FTP the light edition is totally free without ads and it performs the job very nicely. No bells and whistles as such but very solid.

yea im getting that to. Gefore i used to get this site is not yet running (or whatever). I was looking through the host email and found somthing about once the script is in the cgi-bin u must call it. whats that and how do i do it? If this helps this is my entire process of making my website:

Made the script
Put it into cgi-bin
put pics from script into pics folder
CuteFTP Loaded it in
I exited out
Went to see site
Nothing there
lol

The reason you're getting errors is because you've got three r's in 'barrys'.

That said, if you go to http://www.mygames.barrysworld.net/ you get a 'This website is not yet live' message.

Do you have to activate it somehow? I'm sure the tutorial can help.

Oh, and I'd recomend SmartFTP as the best FTP program.

ok id be glad to use the tutorial but i have no clue where it is. could someone email me post me or whatever the link to me? Also anything that would help. Lol I try to dive feet first into all of this but nd up landing head first into concrete.
