Hey Guys,

I was looking into building a search tool for a website of mine, i was wondering how i would go about this?

Would i need to have all my information in a database so that i can use PHP to search for it and display results? Are there any other methods?

You could do something like that I guess, sounds like work to me.

Abusing google seems like a far lazier option, which should work just fine.

You could also use the google API and present the results yourself...

There are various scripts to do this - visit this one as I quite like it:

Do a search for eh? well searches I suppose :) .

Plenty of links should show.

By the way Browser-Info is interesting - what other sites have you now?

I'm increasingly inclined to go with the Google or Yahoo based approach when you don't have a native search system built in. Their indexing is excellent, and Google certainly lets you pass some style and header information through to the results page.
