I was wondering if it was possible to use CSS to create a semi translucent colour in a div, something that I could possibly see another div through it?

see attached pic for what I mean...

You can set like

opacity: 0.5

on the div

Probably doesn't work in IE until 8 or 9? search for IE opacity hack xD

code for IE - filter:alpha(opacity=x); x is 0-100

opacity:x; x is 0-1 for FF/Chrome/Opera/Safari.

Add it to the image tag.



edit - the lower the value, the more transparent the image is.
