Hi. I've started a berserker on the new classic server, and I'm having troubles with choosing the best weapons.. I've heard different rumours about the weapons and their speed, for example someone told me if your main hand weapon's speed is close to the left hand weapon's speed, than you hit more often..(when we were speaking about mercs).. so the question is, should i use slower offhand weapons or faster ? does it matter at all? :p

thanks.

not sure what offhand to choose on the classic server as i havent been botherd to care, but i would recomend as fast as possible but ofc still with good stats. faster offhand will up your swingspd, and with the DR mainhand weap that is 4.3 i would want a quite fast offhand so the swingspd would be better, only oldschool offhand i can rmbr on the top of my head is the Gazsi(sp?) quest offhand, but i guess there is better nowdays from cata areas ect. migth even be a few ones in the legion drop list that will get upped at somepoint ive heard... but i leave it to the ones that is playing zerkers on classic to give a proper answer since i havent investigated it realy since im not going to play mid on classic at all...

Mid is slightly different from the other two realms when it comes to weapon speeds because we have celerity to take into account. Celerity is certainly not always avaliable but when it is you can cap your swing speed with even pretty slow weapons.

With ToA because you could get 10% haste in template+celerity and the fact that it had an uber charge virtually everybody had malice LA which had a swing speed of 4.1.

In classic you will get your champion weapons with 4% haste however given the fact that alot of aug healers are going 44 aug 31 mend for better buffs you will get 37% celerity instead of the more usual 31% haste with a 37aug 39 mend spec which could make up for the lack of ToA bonuses. I would guess that having the slowest possible LA swing speed will still be considered the best dps over time. I found this link to a haste calculator which I assume is fairly accurate so you can look at what different weapon swing speed do. I never worked out if normal haste and celerity stack on that though, I am guessing they don't.

Haste and celerity proc's stack on each other yes, so especially with toa it was easy to cap most melee classes combat speed. For example i have recently dinged my SB 50 on camlann and got it kitted out/toa'd and i have 9% melee combat speed plus a druid bb with yellow spec haste (25% buff bonus ofc) and my helm has a celerity proc on it so basically when i was buffed and had the proc (which only lasted for about 1min or so) my melee combat speed was capped easily.

Hope that helped, Greetz Xyslo
