It`s beyond ridiculous m8, my last attempt which brought about my MP retirement did not produce at 120+ retries,I know Hendrick has had the same problem.

I strongly believe the % rate has changed, it would be good to hear from the other crafters about the average retries its taking them to produce an MP.

My last successes were for Pbuck (whom I still have to thank for the generous tip:) ) which cost him just under 8 plat, these were made at exact cost, my only earner were 2 99`s I sold, so at a rough estimate of 55 gold per retry each sword took about 75 retries,if making 2 swords is a good base to work out the percent ratio then it has definately dropped from 2% to 1.5%.

Oh and while we are on the subject of crafting, what is your favorite way of figuring costs? I have tried a couple of different ways, motog's calculator and that spreadsheet. I am never quite sure if I have charged enough or too much and I am never sure what to charge for retries.

I really hope that the rest of Albion eventually realizes how frustrating and time consuming crafting can be.

Some people use the x15 base materials cost hun,but atm I would strongly advise against this,i`ve tried that way twice and lost cash each time, if I was you just make mp`s on a per retry basis and keep a record of retries needed for each one, then when you have made a few you will have a rough idea of final cost then you could work out the x base material ratio.

.....

If they don't want to pay, they don't get the items.

I still sell from stock, which is fairly healthy stock level, but noone wants to pay the prices.. .and I get asked EVERY DAY for 99/100% items. And still noone wants to pay the prices.

It takes hours upon hours of the crafters time to make the things. The buyer will gets months of playtime out of the items.

Why can't the buyers actually give us a break and pay for the damn things.

My rules are simple: Sell from stock at fixed prices. A customer is not a customer unless they pay.

My last three MPs went like this:

MP Long Dirk order - I stopped counting after 150 retries and felt guilty about the cost so toned down my pricing scheme to the absolute minimum and practically sold it at cost. At least Headache is a good customer and understands how crafting works.

MP war mace - 3 attempts

MP reinforced duskwood tower - 3 attempts

So I was unlucky once and lucky twice. Problem is just that MP orders practically chain you to the forge for endless amounts of time, which is no fun really. No way in hell am I selling MP weapons for less than 3p, and I only ever work specifically on them if I get money in advance. All in all it's just that I like doing other things as well, and not craft all the time. That and the simple fact that you do get a lot of abuse when you confront people with prices for your weapons really takes the fun out of high level crafting.

Still, I'm not stopping. If you need something, /send me ingame if you can wait for delivery a few days and are willing to pay base cost + retry rates.

heh i cant stand to craft any more , unless i really have too , the way % works for 100 is kinda sick. like u said tho i felt guilty when saying any price over 5 p.
as most cant afford it. unless al the peeps when wanted 100% from me , they just went for a 99% after price got to 2p.

Since SI was released the number and frequency of MP's definitely seems to have gotten worse.
Made 257 hinges before a MP came and that's happening a lot lately.
