weapon craft % sucks? :o

ok have mayn posts etc . prolly be my last about weapon craft.
the last weapon i made , at the time was for a guild member 100% long dirk.
but then i left the guild b4 i finish the weapon.
the total cost for outside guild (heh i had no guild now)
for 16p xxxg
insane amount to pay for 1 weapon. so i said guild price witch was 12p xxxg , but i wasnt happy with that , so i charged just 10p.
and i wont craft weaps again , cant be arse with costs like that.
ill just do seals for money. so plz dont ask me to craft weapons

Understand how you feel,making mp leather gloves once had to ask 800g for them because took near that to make which i hate to do they usually are 200g-500g.Shame really that mps are stupidly nerfed should be 5%-10% chance imh and boney good luck with forming that guild

I think shields are worse (if possible) than making swords etc,all that time spent making 1 and how much can you charge?tbh time spent soloing any type of mob will get you more money than making mp shields.
It does help if people know a bit about crafting before asking you to make 1(weapon), where they get this crazy idea about a maximum of 50 tries for an MP is beyond me,it gets me down when someone gives me 2 plat deposit and when that is gone they have no more money,I tell peeps now to have a minimum of 4 plat under that then its going to be a very dear 99.

Yep crafted items have a number of imbue points which are dependent on their level and quality. Even 1% quality makes a difference at the highest levels AF102 armour has 28 imbue points at 99% quality but 32 imbue points at masterpiece level. More imbue points = more SCed goodies on your kit.

That`s it for me to as far as mp`s go,I was given an order last night with 2 plat deposit,I asked how much did they want to spend on it,they replied go to 4 plat, which I did, I even spent a plat of my own money trying to get it,so after 5 plat no mp I have to log on soon and break the news,that someone has spent 4 plat (im not asking for my 1 back) on a 99% quality weapon.

I have had enough of feeling guilty about the amount of retries to get an mp etc,and tbh it just about sums mythic logic up, that the only way you can benefit from all those hours of mind numbing skilling up is to salvage and make hinges.

So as far as mp`s go im now officially retired,im off to log on now and i`m not looking forward to it,but then I never have when i`ve just pm`ed the final cost of an mp to a customer,but at least the other customers had what they paid for at the end of it.

Is it just me,or have other crafters noticed since SC and alchemy appeared the odds of getting an MP have dwindled from 2% to under 1%?

It's a fucking joke 170 tries on 2 mp chain bits and we only get 1,it's really becoming annoying then you get other albs moaning because you haven't done theirs when they do not realise how long a friggin mp set can take.

On the other hand, I was making a 99% AF51 vest for someone last night, and I got a masterpiece 2nd try (ie. before a 99%). So she was happy

I really think that over time, it evens out. My current plan is to raise some cash and premake some MPs, because I'm quite sure that over time it will average out to a material cost of base price + 49 remakes, so I'll pick some suitable fixed price to sell them for without losing money. But tailoring is a lot cheaper.

All I can say is OUCH for you wc out there. I am running into the same trouble with just battlefield mp kits.

Oh and while we are on the subject of crafting, what is your favorite way of figuring costs? I have tried a couple of different ways, motog's calculator and that spreadsheet. I am never quite sure if I have charged enough or too much and I am never sure what to charge for retries.

I really hope that the rest of Albion eventually realizes how frustrating and time consuming crafting can be.

Take a look at Parsec's Crafting Cube Kyra. This is what I use for figuring costs.

If you want to charge by the averages, then 99% is base price + 4 remakes (that is average cost price to you, mark up by whatever you deem approproate). I find it easier with the 99% to premake a load, since that will keep the average price reasonable.

Only problem that ppl don't intend to pay for 99% with base +retries method (or fix prices what you mentioned), they rather like to buy it for ~1.1*base or "cheaper if possible".
