KCET are still developing it, the previous games never had online play, I can't see how they could be doing anything to it. PS2 online play was only hinted at for WE8 so to not see it there isn't desperately surprising.

At least now there's a chance of online play on one format, thankfully.

Konami, that really is a bit retarded. Any company that turns it's back on it's biggest audience for a few extra dollars deserves it's ass kicked. I mean I personally aren't too fussed about online play (I think it would suck in all honesty), as long as the multitap is still supported I'd rather play Multi that way, but still, very very dissapointing. Still, I don't think online play will make up for how unsuited the Xbox controller will be to ISS, so we can still point and laugh at those poor unfortunate souls who shelled out 130+ quid for a shit console. Ha Ha.

Alternatively we could wait for an official announcement and not take spong's guess as gospel before we shout our mouths off.

When you can buy something as simple as this for less than a tenner and potentially enjoy PES (they've still made no announcement regarding WE as far as I remember) online and use the ps2 controller, it'll be us laughing at the unfortunate souls who didn't buy the console and may not be joining us online. Ha Ha.

Tis sad when you have to buy extra bits for your console to make it a bearable playing experience. Can't say I'm shocked with the amount of extra bits you need to get for Xbox to make it worthwhile (mod chip, new HD, DVD remote - seriously which spacklord of a company releases a Home Entertainment Center then charges you extra to watch DVD's on it. No wonder it rocketed straight to number one in the sales charts!), but still if it makes the poor pe0ns who bought one feel somehow superior for buying a second rate console well all the power to them. At least those of use with half a brain can go online with GT4 when we get bored of playing our mates (in the same room - still miles ahead of online play for fun quotient imo, especially in a game like ISS, get involved in some 3v3 action and you'll see why) at ISS. Hmmmm, ragging a Concept M5 round a track or getting terminally frustrated at not getting the ball cos you can't scream at your teammates I'M FREE IN THE BOX. And when we get bored of that we can laugh at the poor souls playing PGR2 instead.

Life is indeed still sweet in Sony land. You'd have to be a prize windowlicker to live anywhere else (Doomy I'm looking in your direction here).

OR... do shout at them cos you are using the communicator, and playing against your mates who you invited into your game, rather than trying to arrange it via irc or something first and not just hoping you get lucky with the game you land in?

You could quite happily be playing 3v3 (11 v 11 system link?) in the same room AND go online as well. The point is I could do both, Links 2004 and the xsn tournament maker is a great example of how versatile the online service is, which incidentally poops all over sony's offering. Like many of the other beta testers i played the ps2 online games a couple of times and didn't bother again. Trying to find people on it is a nightmare.

BTW PGR2 online is great fun, and has been for more than 6 months now, perhaps we should talk about GT4 once it finally appears and we have a chance to see how well it plays online?

SINGSTAR FOR TEH WIN!!!!1!!

(I mean that btw, the game fkin rocks)

Shame, you went to all that effort and missed out the other 20 or so AAA titles I have the choice of (that number could have been 30 but I decided to give you poor buggers a chance and left out the sequels). I'm sure if I went multiformat I could boost this number by about 3, maybe 4 (the grand total of GC and Xbox exclusives that interest me - Halo (ish - it really is a horrendously derivative FPS) and SSB:M are the only ones that spring to mind right now - but why bother when there are too many games for me to fit in on the console I already have.

Babs, 5 players on one team at ISS is shit, as you hardly ever get the ball and normally find some muppet has rushed all your defenders halfway up the pitch, so I dread to think how bad 11 a side is going to be. So it's not really a plus point, even if you do manage to lay your hands on the 6 Xboxs required to do it. 4v4 in the one room is perfect, after that the law of diminishing returns comes into play. Also, PS2 online is a bit of an afterthought, as the market still isn't there for online console games (not one to make it worthwhile). I'm sure if Sony thought it was worth bothering with properly they'd do it, as it is they seem to be letting Microsoft batter ahead with Live!, which may be excellent, but doesn't seem to be good enough to convince the punters to buy an Xbox. And as it is it is the only area where Xbox bests PS2, and it is a minor one at that.

Stab in the dark. You even seen Riddick? One title you might just like on xbox. Im starting to think Sony are providing blinkers with their games. Jeesus.
