To clear it up, I was the first sorc to hit level 50, and stayed the top RP sorc (only reaching about RR4L7 or so) until I got bored and had a break from the game for a few months. If I remember correctly, when I came back, Ezeine and Layl had overtaken me in the RP rankings. I've got no idea what level/RR etc you were because it didn't really interest me, and I don't remember you doing much before I sold. I rolled a scout, levelled it to 50 and played that with my sorc until I got to RR5L3 with Psi or something. Then I sold on ebay.

The only time my sorc was gimped was in beta and I started playing the game knowing nothing about it. An even spread in body, mind and matter, oooh yeah

Not like 49 mind is utter shit, you loose some stuff from body but gain nice things in mind specc.
Walkers sorc was 49 mind specced and iirc, he did quite well ^^

He was 49 mind from creation, he rolled it just around the time sorcs got pom/mezz reduction chants etc.
Loosing blue con ae root, boo-hoo, big deal.... blue ae root on det tanks = (almost) free immunity. Especially with the upcoming det boost.
Blue d/q debuff is resisted alot also and (atleast me) didnt nuke much when i played sorc in fg .

Still in my opinion, 44/31 is alot better but, 49 mind is a viable specc for a group sorc also

We had safet for aoe rooting, besides, not many groups lived past the initial mez
