Tbh, the reason your against this is mainly because your a sorc. Casters have it alot easier. If you get distance through using the water's slight lag between diving and coming up to the surface, you can have a fair chance at winning. Additionally, your situations are poorly choosen. If I saw a zerg coming my way with the 10s rule introduced, I'd run the opposite way to the zerg.. if theres a mid and hib zerg then I don't see how you could have advoided it even if you surfaced.

The offensive part is poor I agree. But the 10s delay is a very good idea.
Don't see how having a timer preventing u to surface/dive for 10s is going to help u as a meleer...

The few times when u will be chasing a caster in water it might be of some use. But most of the times u will be blown to bits within 10s if there happens to be a caster in the vicinity, because u won't be able to break his LoS on u by diving-surfacing for 10 very long seconds...

im afraid im with horner on this one, if i jump into the water, dive, and spot a caster or a group down there, i really would like to about turn, surface and run the fuck away, say into a bridge, or a nearby tower, or even back to the hibby zerge for protection from being ganked. being forced to stay under for 10 seconds would turn my chance of escape to pretty much, well, nil.

similarly, i dont like the unable to attack either..for instance i attack a caster on a bridge, he's doomed, gonna die, but, he jumps into water, dives, i follow, and i get the equivelent of being grappled, and cant finish him off, he could continually surfaace, and dive to stop me from killing him.

nice ideas, but im afraid both would fuck RvR up a bit.

Horner may be a :wanker: sometimes, but he's right atm.

it has to be fixed.. and SOON, same with the los in small hills. And same with a 100 other bugs but they make useless expansions to drain money out of customers instead.

Rofl your some well interesting person, not only is your arguments completly useless but you also seem to think i play 1v1 only for some reason???

As i said before, having a timer on the LoS problem here would make people think twice before diving, so if your stupid enough to dive down single person while you grp is fuzzing about on surface, you deserve what ever comes at you..... And most often its actually the zergs or the crappy players who have to use the LoS abuse, i rarely use it unless i have to catch some enemy doing it....

Maybe you should try real rvr and stop the random emotes? Because surely you have no idea of how this effect the current rvr in a bad way, you are actually defending it and seem to think its good that you can abuse LoS like that......

maybe introduce a 50% miss rate for shooting through water or something, but it'll be have to be made more transparent which will cause quite a bit of lag for some won't it?

U are saying a Timer preventing u to surface/dive for 10s is a good idea cuz groupmates who lose group cohesion would die even faster ...

I'm not defending LoS abuse. I'm just saying your idea of a 10s timer between diving/surfacing is stupid. I've never abused LoS in water and I counter anyone doing it with my ml9 pet ...

Just make a poll and see how many players wouldn't agree with u ...

PS : And remember to give us a clear definition of what "real rvr" is ...

Water fights are so bloody lame especially as a tank; you take twice as long to get to a caster, but they are still casting at capped speed... couple with the LoS issues, water fights are zzzzz. Would say eradicate the water completely, but then there is the problem of how do we get to other realms?? hmmm wait a minute maybe we could have like portal keeps, oh wait a minute thats OF ;<

dont see how they can fix it til transparent water is the default. just glad my ml9 pet doesnt mind which side of the water u are ;D

There is allways the roleplay option. Stop all spell casting and archery underwater, reduce swingspeeds and damage on melee by 90%.

I challenge anyone to hit anything with an arrow at an underwater target, or swing a sword with enough force to do damage, plus not sure how effective a fire spells should be.

Well....imho make water realistic. That means that the surface is a translucent, non-blocking screen through which you can fully interact. That means attacking / casting / healing / LOOKING. I hate to have water in front of me and I can't even see what's under it =)
