hahaha I am a genius, I removed the plastic link and used the pin that held the plastic link in place to hold the entire fabric section in place instead, doesn't look as pretty as it used to but at least it tells the time.

Same happened to me frankie. Took it to a jewlers, and he replaced the pin, but he stuck in a crap pin, and it just did the same again. Decided i wasn't going to find a pin the same as the one that borke originally, so gave up.

buying decent watches won't help with the "strappage breakage" syndrome... on the contrary, it may actually aid the "strappage breakage" syndrome due to the higher mass decent watches tend to be.

back to the subject though, i fixed mine, except the pin was a bigger one (width) so it came out of the holes easy, just ground down the pin at ends slightly, perfect!

btw my watch is decent... automatic 21jewl citizen, though would love a kinetic titanium case / strap seiko

Yes it will, because they're constructed better. Tags/Breitlings/Omegas etc rarely break, surprisingly.

I have a TAG and it's only required one battery in the 5+ years I've had it and its never had a broken strap. Only bitch about the battery is it has to be replaced by an official TAG shop since the seal has to be replaced, costs about £20.

I still have a casio watch that I bought back in 1992 for £13 have yet to change the battery, and its still going now. Its a lithium hydrate battery which supposedly last for 12 years on average.

Staps are the way forward from straps.
