You are out RvRing, having a good time trying to kill a few mids and hibs. Then suddenly Nottmoor gets taken and you go there, knock down the doors and charge the lordsroom. 15 sec later you and 20 other mids are dead by pbaoe. Here comes my questions.

What is your first thought when you fail to retake the keep:
1) Darn, now those bloody hibs/albs got 10000k RP, let's go back and kill them for revenge.
2) Darn, we failed to retake our realm's keep. Let's give it another try lads, we will try till we succed (limits on this one).

When you go to Emain or <insert your RvR place here>, do you go to have fun, or do you go for the RP because you wanna be a 1337 über h4><><0r RP leecher who is super in RvR... Or maybe both?

Seriously i don't really care much for RP... well, i cared for it but once i got RR3 it was more a point of...

as for your other question (the one below it) firstly, all the 1337 uber blah, blah, blah people. LEARN TO SPELL! why the hell you change a perfectly good word like 'Elite' into 1337 is beyond me.

Secondly, being me i don't look out for names. I don't care who i kill/who kills me, if i suddenly get jumped by a minstrel i couldn't care less if it was a famous blokey like Alpha or some inbread country hick who presses his 'own the healer' button repeatedly. I'm dead and have to /rel or wait on a res and thats as much as i care.

Not that i'm critisising the people that go for high RP and get to the top of the tables and all that. if you wanna do that, good luck to you sir.

But i digress, i'm the kinda Mid that wants to have fun. And possibly make a few false friends in the process (Put 'Game Addicts' into Google )

If keeps are under attack then i'll go, if relics are under attack then i'll go, if we get wasted in a keep retake then i have sence enough to know when you can take a keep and when you cant, if it's out of primetime and i'm bored i'll goto Emain and wait for something to crack off in Mid.

Well Im not into farming, but off course I still like to get RP

But trying to take a keep with some hib/alb PBAOEing away makes it almost impossible so I would rather wait for them to sneak out and kill them in the open field, then take the keep.

I would much rater go Odin's Gate than Emain

I for one play for fun. But I will also return to try and take that keep nomatter how many tries it takes, but also I do learn from mistakes

Example. Nottmore yesterday (01-01-2003) 4+ Hib Pbaoer held the stairs to the lord room, for about 25 minutes and the Mids threw themselves at em instead of letting our Gtaoer/pbaoer wear them down. I also got suckered into attacking them.
After Nottmore we went to Bledmeer, almost the same thing happened there which to me was incredibly, do mids have so short memory ? I'd wager the hibs where laughing their butts off. I known I would have.

But never the less the mids preserverance (+ sheer numbers) won out.

I have fun wherever I go or I try to. Own frontier/ Forest Sauvage seems to me though to be more fun.

As long as Mid's keep making the effort to take keeps i'm v happy, much better then on the Alb boards all you see is people saying "It's hopeless lets just give up"

We got the keeps as far as I can remember, and we didnt lose any RP´s, only they gained something, and tbh, they did a good job invading our frontier, they should get at least a lil of what they came for.

Anyways, I came there to get the keeps back, and we got em, so I couldnt care less if hibs got 1 rp or 10k rps.

Ohh btw, well done hibbies if you read this, it was great fun

I could'nt care less if the hibs gets 1 or 100k rps off mids when invading our frontier.

But I don't think that we should just give them away, and I for one don't think that because they did a good job of invading us they are entitled to any RP's off slain midgard's.

Dunno why I quoted you, and of course it would be nice to keep casualties down, as you said we should have let people gtae the tower and so on, I was more referring to that we should attack while they defended, not just let em camp then take back when they leave, that isnt what the game is about, and it has nothing to do with any others thoughts, just my oppinion

Finding out what kinda ppl "mids" are will give me insight in the realm and will make it easier to organise.

Favourite RvR spots have to be Middie frontier and keep taking/defending deep within enemy frontiers. Dont like emain much, only ever go there when I am truely bored.

As for retaking our keeps, when I see one go the first thing I would like to see done is a couple of SBs go and check out the the defence. While they do that we can gather a retake force. If the keep is heavily defended (3fg+) I think that it makes more sense to use tactics other than the full on frontal assault.

A couple of things that I have noticed recently are: -

1) GTAOE and PBAOE, as these are new to middies a lot of people dont seem to know how to use them effectively.
2) People door bashing when there are defenders on the walls picking off their support.
3) People with ranged attacks picking different targets and rarely killing a single person.

Basically, it comes down to most people doing their own thing and not working together with fellow middies as well as they could. It would also be nice to see more SBs and skalds helping to defend our frontier, they are two of the most popular classes in our realm yet there always seem to be too few around defending.

What i noticed the last few weeks

Middies are the best (at the moment) at defending their own borders. As soon as an attack is mounted against our keeps, both MG's get blocked by our forces to stop incoming new forces. Never seen that happen in Alb or Hib frontier (or i missed something )

Found it great to notice on the evening of 1-1-2003 that Aesirs alliance was concentrating on blocking the MG's while the FoM alliance was organizing keep retakes. GREAT job

I don't care about RPs. I'd rather not give away free ones to anyone, so if I'm going to die I'd rather make it count.

We seriously need more RC runies and some more PBAOE SM's up at level 50 ASAP though

Im gonna go with option 2 here, unless the keep is "farm-defended" like when Herfølge took one not so long ago.

Oh, and if you want more pbaoe'ers, send Mazuma a pm, hes lvl 39 and eager for grouping (either keep-defense/offense or xp'ing)
