Warrior | Which is the best race

Whilst making a Warrior I was wondering which race would be most suitable for the task, this warrior will be made primary for farming purposes.

What I concider is Troll or Norse or even a kobold, which is the strongest in a sum up from all positive angels?

Which weapon is most suitable of choice and which spec-template.

As starting attributes I see 10 str, 10 dex and 10 con as the most allround no matter race.


And is a warrior strongest in a farming purpose compared to a berserker in the view of soloing (with a lvl 50 BB straight aug specced)?

hmmm, im very sleepy and have little time on my hands so please forgive me if i make any mistakes.

There isnt 'one best race' they all have their ups and downers (brb, gettin drink) ... back, anyway Trolls have higher stren then any other race so they hit harder then the others BUT they have low dex and qui, this means they have a low chance of blocking/parrying/evading and they will miss abit more too.
Kobi's/Valkyn have low hp and stren so they cant take much of a beating nor can they dish out the dmg but they can block/parry/evade more then the other classes

dwarf/norse are in the middle, they r pritty strong and they have acceptable dex/con/qui. the Dwarf has 10 less stren then the norse but has 10 more con, so the dwarf has more hp but the norse hits harder.

Im not sure about the farming skills of zerker's but warriors can solo 'ok' but if you want farming make a caster (sm)


In the end it doesnt rly make a diffrence what class you pick, with spellcrafting you can sort out your lacking stats, whatever you pick you'll end up a good warrior, good luck bud

In the end, it all balances out, cept for the the warrior troll.
Btw, trolls get targetted first by enemies.... not good for your health

Tanks should be targetted first in a good group, so Troll tanks is making your groups survive longer, imo :x

Totally agree.
Only ppl that arent that experienced in rvr target Trolls first, and try to beat them down. Thats alot better for the group, so enemies are busy, when your own casters do their work.

Imo, if i would start the game and roll a warrior id roll a norse,
for best averagevalues, though i like to be able to deal lots of dmg, and since the cap at 300 will be removed in future patch, 350+ str buffed will do me alot.

for farming solo with buffs or with out i would pick troll thane any day for other farming make a sm but if you really want a warior i think troll is coolest but norse is best

This was soloing 3 orange/red windswept wraiths at once tonight, same goes for any orange/red con mob, they won't hit.

Frequently hit for 500+ in general RvR with 2h so can't really say kobie warrior lack offensive capability either.

And in my experience the enemy automatically go for the kobie, even when i'm guarding healers i'm usually the first to get hit, imo that's a good thing.

Seems to me kobolds and trolls have a good advantage but also a disadvantage, Norse or dwarf seem balanced in all point of views.

Please give more feedback, and thanks for all advices so far.


Still the question remains, what is best for soloing, Warrior, zerker or even SM? (along with BB/PoM bot and perhaps a mate playing as a warr/zerk tanking whilst taking out single high con mobs)

I haven't used mine for RvR yet, but for PvE Kobold is just too fun to give up. I block/parry like a mad man, and dmg is good too. I use hammer on my toon, and with small shield...lol...quess what I look like . I started with +15str/+10Con and IMHO it worked out nicely.

For PvE (solo) if your in a none aggro zone - sideslam with small shield - woop the mob 2 times with your 2H using side-style - when the mob comes out of the shield stun go back to shield/1H.

ehh...I solo Ambassador in DF with my 50 troll warrior without losing almost any health, but with heavy buffs of course . My strength is capped at 345 and with new cap stats it can go up to 389 I think.

There aren't really any good race for fighters of any kind.. Because at lvl50 with buffs.. It makes no difference.. Everything is capped :-P
So, go for what u think is coolest ^^
My norse rulez.. Use him when I'm not playing if u wanna try out ^^

As I see warriors as purely a defensive class, go dwarf for more hp And my experience with warriors is that they arn´t any good to solo with. Choose a supp SM or a zerker for such thing.

Dwarf...

I would say a dwarf, cuz they have better strength then a kobold, but less dex ofc, and better dex then a troll, but ofc lower str. but dwarf have very nice hp, and pretty good base resist.

and choice of weapon is simple. Hammer.. cuz of the low end style provoke, wich also is a taunt style (nice for farming in group).
and aswell does pretty nice dmg.

and a nice specc line as i think, (I use it my self)

50 hammer
39 parry
42 shield (just for the slam)

Uhm suppresion runemaster for soloing ? don't let Jakobi see that remark, he is rr5 50supp runie with full sc gear, with buffs he sucks at soloing, so if u wanna solo any viking class is good tbh (not thane, thane aint viking, thane is well .. thane ..)

well not sure how things will work out with the new caps but atm i beat almost all troll warriors in duels unbuffed, and i think the new caps just brings buffed stats more in line with unbuffed so im still not sure that troll will be so much better, though ofc the extra weaponskill would be nice.

as for zerk for PvE...well i have warrior and zerk, warrior is much more efficient.

Norse is the best balanced race for a warrior imo

Kobold they are nice but they have little life and do less dmg

But i like my troll and im as good a warrior as any norse or kobold i can block 4 5 mobs on my sheild during DF runs etc so dont rule out any race for warriors i dont think any race is uber its how you play that makes ur warrior uber tbh you adapt ur gameplay with ur char simple :>
