Elder Council Guthlac drops the shield, and if I remember right Guthlac was not doable with the normal focusteam, therefor there is not so many shields on the server. I would consider them very rare these days, but good for sure.Arcee said:

Agree with Denisee that 7.7 shield is good, great proc ... but its fixed in 1.68 or 1.69 to trigger if you use shield as a weapon (slam etc).. anyway you can make crafted shield mp +6shield 3x5% resists for that template.

This just isnt working, i have tried about 10 times over the last 2 days to try and make a template but i always end up in a mess. Im not sure what other items i can use now, been through every combination of SI/TOA/Classic items i can think of, thats even using 100% gloves, boots and helm.
Not an easy class to make a template for e.g the 2h/axe+shield switch.

Well, screw 2h Once you are using 2h as warrior, you should be well on the way to winning the fight anyway
Other than that: build your template around nice jewelry, TG items are cheap these days, and try getting hold of TOA rog items with high utility and/or resists that are "unusual" (not like most SI jewelry, which all have the same three resists - making you ubercapped in those)
and ofc: the higher the number of artifacts you have in your template, the better chance you'll have of capping the new TOA bonuses, but you'll also have a harder time capping rest of your SC due to the low (conventional) utility on most TOA artifacts.

couple of tips;
Put as many dex and shield skill on your shield/1h as possible
Dont use artifact weapons, they all suck statwise
Find some nice rog as pointed out
Start building from what you really want. if you want +25str cap, first put in all the items that increase str cap and build around them
And forget parry and quick all together ^^
