Warning for 5 pnt overcharge

My first piece 99% i overcharged 5 pnts since patch blowed up. used 99% gems as usual and sofar i never blowed up before. I did 5 pnts overcharge at skill 800 without any trouble so it looks like 5 pnts overcharge is not safe anymore even at 1000+ skill and 99% gems

Did you use 4 gems?
If you used only 3, the item is sure to go BOOM.

i just OCed 10 99% pieces with 5(.5) points and worked just fine with 100x skill

edit: used 99% gems ofc

There`s always been a chance of blowing up on 5pt OC`s even when using 4 99% gems, thing is that chance is so small it hardly happens.

this statment in coreect in 155 full srt imbues before patch with 99% jewels i poped 3 items
since patch done 11 full set imbues no pop as far as i can see nothing has changed this patch regarding 99% imbues

Conclusion : Use pure 99%/MP gem's, not that hard

my 5 pt oc 99% chain torso for my minstrel didnt blow up using 1 mp, 1 99% and 2 98% gems.

conclusion: alb sc > mid sc

I just got me a new suit.. all 5 points oc no problem at all.. but when i was to get 7 aug put to my 2h hammer i was to use while buffing (1 point oc i think) it blew up.
Sometime your just unlucky

if you use 1 gem to overcharge I think you have a very big chance of blowing up.

I wanted something like +6-7aug on a hammer....1 try 100% qua gem on a 99% hammer...boom

2nd try, 99% gem on a 99% hammer, also blew up.

if your using a +7-8 skill gem always get atleast one mp +1 str gem as well. greatly increases your chance of getting the item imbued.. with just the 99% +7-8 skill gem IT WILL GO BOOM!!!!!

The trouble with only using 1 gem is:

Items have 4 slots from SCing. If any of those 4 slots if not used, the game treats the empty slots as 94% gems.

So on your hammer, you had 1 99gem with 7 aug and 3x94gems with nothing. So it blew up.

Always use all 4 slots on your SC attempts if you're going to overcharge. Even if (as Emma suggests) you use gems with +1stat.

done 9 full sc 5 point oc with 995 jewels since patch no pops
