Laceish Plains are currently suffering from a "crash loop" ie. When you enter the zone it eats all your computer memory so you get an assertion failure: Out of memory, the instant you log in.

They are currently fixing it and it's listed as a Known issue. Until they announce otherwise, don't enter!

Crash-looping here too, hopefully the server downtime fixes it.

6 days iant gonna do that much of a difference. sure they get to crank out SOME bugs, but far from everything and probably not the most annoying ones.

tho i am starting to think that this EA is just a extended stress test/open beta (that we had to pay for yet again), only difference is that we get to keep our toons when its done.

Balance out erver loads on zones, test out servers, iron out the big crash bugs(which i meant by the way) and best of all get cash out of it.

It's rather genius and keeps everyone happy.

By the way, 6 days is a full work week(over) and i'm thinking with this team it's...well...so close to launch....40 people'ish...10h/day....2000 work hours on the game at least?

Considering some of the miracle patches funcom has pulled off lately in closed beta, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they manage to get things quite polished for the big release.

The EA client is so much more stable than earlier clients. Also, paying for EA means you also paid for an additional 10 days of play time. So you payed 5€ for 6 days earlier access and 10 days extra playtime.

I think the whole arguement against the EA dies at 'Well you don't have to get it'.

Thats just it tot, in my experience atleast there haven't been any zone lags, huge bugs etc. My game experience has been flawless.
From my pov, this game is polished and I'm more than happy to pay for it.

Actually that's a misconception.

You pay 5€ for the 10 days, correct. But you only recieve 4 days after the EA. EA is still gametime you pay for.

Which means, that actually, the 5€ for 10 days is more expensive(minimal) then the normal GTC.

Yeah, but as we can see from this thread, it's not completely. I like to think that the 6 days of "mass" invasion of the servers achieves a few more bugs to be taken out.

Not to mention, all of the "too gung ho" people already got the EA so are out of the starting zones :D

My experience has been mixed:
Love the game, but find the Game client to be a load of dung. Freezes and crashes pretty often.

Is EA still essentially beta? Or is it supposed to be the actual final retail release version?

retail starts 23rd, and beta was over on the 17th. What it is now betail! ... or how to make people pay for the final testing before the masses break the servers. :p
