Ok, lets verify that. Do you have a Digicam or Cellphone cam? We can do a little experiment here.Outlander said:taken from K's link ^^
Hmm, as I read it the fact that "A child cannot be scolded by hot water at 58°C. 64°C and you can feel the burn" is taken out of context to point out that it's safe.Jeriraa said:Dude, did you even read the article? This is about a solar dryer. They are talking about an air temperature of 58° not water. Air has a considerably lower thermal capacity than water wich means it can not store or transfer heat as effective as water can.
Beside that you'd get serious circulatory trouble after a short time at that air temperature as your body will try to keep your skin from scalding by carrying the heat deeper into your system.
Tilda said:Tris, I dont believe your boiler is heating water to 60 degrees, since you have ignored every request to measure it, I can only assume I am correct.
I was merely pointing to the part in his link that he gets the water temperature, that you stated was air temperature. I dont give a shit about if its correct or notJeriraa said:Ok, lets verify that. Do you have a Digicam or Cellphone cam? We can do a little experiment here.
Applied physics for FH users: Today, scalding myself.

the whole debate is silly imo
cadiver said:The issue, as I see it, isn't that Tris is wanting to protect the right for people to burn themselves, but to protect the right for people to take responsibility for their own actions and accept the consequences.
correct, but also because i really enjoy the water at its highest temp. its theraputic for me
the internet is for porn!*tris- said:ye, but without pointless discussions like this i feel the forum would be full of 2 week old videos, praises to hoff and norris and people asking whats the top 10 sandwhich of all time
Ok, I admit I missed the 'hot water' there. Made a mistake. Happens when you get carried away by the heat of the moment. I got a kid myself and it makes my stomach turn to read shit like that.Outlander said:I was merely pointing to the part in his link that he gets the water temperature, that you stated was air temperature. Cadiva said:As has been said before, young children and the elderly should have other people to take those responsibilities if they are unable to do so themselves.
evzy said:In a perfect world maybe....but not everyone does
evzy said:Which is exactly why we need cooler water in our baths !!! It will save society as a whole !!!
evzy said:Nah , nice n warm but not hot n sweaty - cooking ya spuds in teh bath is not good imo!!
Cadiva said:Well, as I don't have any spuds to cook, that probably explains why I like a nice hot bath to soak in
evzy said:Thats my missus excuse for getting in a raging hot bath tbh....personally I think she is just related to the devil !
Cadiva said:Hehe, I think us girlies just have a higher pain/heat threshold, it is entirely possible it comes from being able to deal with demons and devils yus
we still need to whine you know :< WHIIINE GIVF 80 DEGREE HOT WATER FFS I WANT TO GET CLEAN QQ MY RIGHTS ETC.Tilda said:tris tbh, I think you're blowing things out of all proportion.
OMGS NO HOT WATER EFAR!!!
Have you acctually tried to bath in water 60 degrees? Have you tried to bath in water at 48 degrees? Do you regularly enjoy getting 3rd degree burns?
Did you read the line saying it has little chance of sucess anyway?
Kathal said:Hmm, doesn’t water boil at 100C and not 60C? Guess you could boil water at 60C, but not at the pressure we walk around in. Guess it’s to get their point thru with some dramatically words etc.
