I've watched the first 3 episodes and whilst it has a comparison to Eureka, its very loose.
One review I was reading said it thought it was a cross between Fringe/X-Files and Indiana Jones... it might look great on paper but the acting/effects are 'meh' at best. If anyones watched Sanctuary (with the chick from SG1) it feels like the same team.

2nd Season of True Blood has started well, I believe Jason's character changes for the better as the season moves on. I find Sookie annoying some times. The Sheriff and the Detective are probably my top 2 characters, maybe Season 2 I'd say Eric (vamp Sheriff) is becoming a good character.

Still waiting on a Pilot or V and The Prisoner... hurry up US Stations :p

Based on this post i decided to watch the 3 eps. Have to say i really enjoyed it, nice character build up, really like them both and its not too serious lik xfiles is, i can see the Eureka feel too.

I think i shall continue to watch this show

Might as well necro this thread :d

The first episode in season 2 is great.
As a bonus you may remember one of the characters actresses was Lila from Dexter Season 2.

Pardon my tits for not spoilering it :)

I've watched about 6 episodes of the first series now. It only really wakes up about ep 4 when Claudia appears. Actually, the 'Claudia' episode is pretty good all on its own. You could bin the first 3 episodes and start with that but I like that they waited this long to introduce her. Reminds me of how Chiana was brought onboard in Farscape.

This is borderline post-dinner slottage for me - that kind of Stargate SG1 pretty bad but cheesey fun.Blood is being used to digest food so not doing a whole lot with the brain.
The writing got better in between 4-6 and some of the banter is subtly acerbic and they even squeezed in a monkey-wank joke under censor radar, which is impressive :D

The guy that plays Arty is a sci-fi stalwart, turning up in shitloads of stuff and usually very enjoyable to watch all on his own. I think he brings a lot to the table in this. Having Claudia to be at odds with is somewhat predictable but still good fun as the banter seems quite sparky so far.

Cheap SyFy channel series but better than what they usually churn out. I'm looking at you, Flash Gordon.

Season 2 is much much better than S1, I almost stopped watching it early in S1.

I've watched all of S1 now. They seem to have had a lot of wrinkles to sort out, probably from not quite knowing how they wanted to aim the show. Last couple of episodes of S1 were great.

I've watched the first of S2 and have to say it was really good. Only seen the start of the second episode and I'm loving the way they seem to have hit their stride, I hope this holds up. And its great to see some of the Firefly cast together as guests on this.

Mrs.Zenith watches it. I usually do something else.
It just didn't grab me in the same way BSG never really grabbed me.

Season two is far superior to season one, however towards the end of series one they started to tighten it up a bit with regards to where they were going.

They need to stop thinking about stand alone episodes that anyone can jump in and watch and concentrate on the bigger picture.

One of the shows I watch religiously. The Eureka->Warehouse 13 crossover episodes are awesome too. ;)

I just watched the season finale and it was Interesting.

If Myka really is gone I'm not sure that's all bad as it means Claudia can step up to agent. I like Claudia but i would miss Myka still i think.

Warhouse 2 filling with sand and Pete is desperately trying to make a rug fly. All kinds of bonkers awesome. Great start to the finale.

I was slightly disappointed HG didn't get away with her nefarious plot. I thought it would have made for a great catastrophic cliff hanger, even if they fudged it going into the next series. Arguably its better to have not done such a cheap thing.

The way that Pete's girlfriend is removed from the series is excellently done and harks (to my mind) back to the way Joss Whedon handled a lot of such relationships in Buffy.

Is Myca really gone? I suspect not. Pay negotiations outside of the TV series are probably the real plot decider :D (Thats idle speculation).

I liked it. W13 seems to follow its own internal logic really well. The special FX are fairly shit throughout but somehow that lends to the charm. There's that nostalgic Dr. Who feel "The plots are great but feck me the budget is pants". In the last two episodes, the desert parts noticably terrible in this department.

But. There's some great sci-fi/fantasy in this - the whole Minoan artifact thing and what was going to happen with it was great.

I find Mrs Frederick great. Not greatly acted, just the way she's handled. I think the actress playing the part is a bit leaden but, like Arnie in Terminator, that pretty much works for her. And they use so many tricks to add to her mystique that it becomes pretty much a side issue that they've got a wooden-top in the part.

There's no big plot arc set up for the next series, just lots of open ended bits that they may or may not choose to follow. A large part of what seems to make W13 work is the characters more than the stories and its the characters themselves that have interesting times at the end of the series, rather than some world-bending calamity that we're on the edge of our seats waiting to see resolved.

I was very surprised when the whole big story was resolved with so much spare time at the end of the episode. I couldn't quite decide if the plot just ran out of fizz and they wanted to fill it out for the last third of the episode or if they'd deliberately decided they wanted some character time at the end. I prefer to think the latter.

Although I usually cringe at such things due to heavy handedness, the closing parts such as the scene between Arty and Claudia were very touching.

To my mind, Series 2 I think has seen W13 move from cheap SyFy channel fodder to becoming cheap SyFy goodness. Probably a large degree of accidental awesome from what I've seen of other SyFy homegrown product. The writers must have worked their nads off to work within the limitations set on them and the cast have done a top notch job of making their characters very engaging when they could so easily sleepwalk this series into the more mediocre norm.

Two thumbs way way up. Interesting stories, interesting characters. Light and fluffy for the most part but very engaging.

Better and a little darker than eureka, I hope they replace Myka because she was just a little too annoying for me :p

Claudia and HG on the other hand, om nomn omn om nom.
They need to somehow bring HG back as mykas replacement next season, that would be so much better <3
