Well, finally ordered the hybrid SACD/CD release. Turned up on Thursday and I must say even the 2 channel mix is an improvement over the last release of the album.

Rushed out today and bought a Pioneer DV-575 for DVD-Audio/SACD playback. Hooked it up to my 3805 amp using the ext in interface, SACD is not output over digital means due to lack of copy protection controls.

My god, how different does it sound? Amazing, truly. The hairs on my arms stood up at the point where the lid slowly unscrews. At that point I had to stop as I didn't have enough time to sit through the entire album.

Can't wait. Anyone with SACD go get this album, I suspect it will be used as a reference!!!

I saw it the other day and have considered getting it, esp since the I love the original CD. Might have to add it to my copy of Holst The Planets I've got on SACD....which also sounds great

I picked it up yesterday and I'm listening to it now on my PC, the sound quality is pretty good. I put it on my iPod and listened to it in bed last night, it fucking scared me!
