Someone from my guild just posted this on our forums:

"I have been in contact with the Dutch partner of EA again, the ones that distribute the game in Holland. The Collectors Edition disappeared from their website, so no order could be placed. I asked why and after a long conversation, bottom line is that the Collectors Editions have not yet been shipped to the partners, whatever the reason is, I don’t know. But I think this is serious bad news.
The Standard Edition was on their website to be ordered as normal, but I asked him if they had physical stock already. The answer was no. So on asking he admitted that the Standard Edition wasn’t in stock either.
He claimed that EA is POSTPONING the release date again. Seen the fact that there is no stock at their partner in Holland makes that stronger.
He told me that EA is again in a serious stress meeting AND THAT THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE OUT A PRESS RELEASE later on today in which they are going to announce that the official date will be postponed again.
This is what I heard, I have no contacts at EA, so it could also be a rumour. I would not be surprised."

Since I am in the same situation, I phoned Free Record Shop, who gave me the same information.

Now, If this happens, there's going to be people who won't be able to play anymore on release, as we won't have codes to enter when it matters.

Maybe the people at GoA can answer this? Magnus, requiel? Please, we need your help! :)

EDIT: this was Guleesh's original post on our guild forums:
"I just came off the phone with FreeRecordShop, the Dutch
partner in distributing the game in here.

The collectors edition was not on their site anymore to
pre-order it. They told me that EA games has delayed
the date for the distribution of the collectors version and
with that the date of the official start, 18th, is postponed
as well. EA seems to be in a high end meeting right now. "

thank you for the constructive comment, Manisch. You've sure relieved a burden from our mind...

However, This was confirmed info by Free Record Shop and the EA store manages not to put any release dates on the site. So I'd like some certitude on what's going to happen.

Mythic Entertainment Lets Loose the Armies of WAR as the "Day of Reckoning" Approaches

FAIRFAX, Va. - September 15, 2008 - Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) studio, today announced that the highly-anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™ (WAR), will ship tomorrow to retail stores across North America, Europe, and Oceania in preparation for launch on September 18th. WAR set a company record for the most retail pre-orders placed by consumers for a PC title in EA's 26 year history. Overall, the company has sold 1.5 million units of WAR to retailers.

Based on the popular tabletop game from Games Workshop, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is an epic fantasy MMORPG featuring innovative Realm vs. Realm™ game play that pits the armies of Order and Destruction against one another on the battlefield to determine the fate of nations. Hundreds of thousands of players have already joined the battle in the open beta, and soon the time will be at hand for players the world over to pledge their allegiance to the armies of WAR.

"This is truly a historic day for both EA and Mythic as we prepare to send more copies of WAR to retailers than any other newly launched MMORPG in North America and Europe. Over the course of our beta, over a million gamers throughout the world sent a clear signal to us - they want WAR, and we are more than happy to oblige them," said Mark Jacobs, co-founder and general manager of Mythic Entertainment. "In three days the real battle begins we have declared September 18th the 'Day of Reckoning,' and WAR will soon be upon us!"

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and is available for PC at an MSRP of $49.99. WAR will be the first MMORPG to open its servers simultaneously in North America, Europe, and Oceania when it goes live on September 18th, 2008. I called the Free Record Shop too and they told me that Blizzard is having a meeting RIGHT NOW and that they're going to bomb all EA offices with cows tomorrow IF EA doesn't stop the launch of Warhammer immediately.

Now we just need to force EA to make a press conference and inform us, the certitude seeking FH users, before they inform their shareholders on how they plan to deal with cows from hell dropping off from heaven.

Wow, did you ever consider a career as a stand-up comedian?
I've asked a serious question about something that's been bothering people who ordered at FRS, just in the odd chance that Magnus or Requiel could shed some light on this.
And all you manage to do, is posting useless and unfriendly comment.
You're still as much of a prick as I remembered you to be

Either you or your fiend is a troll, kinda hard to cancel the launch when you have already shipped the game all over the world and people are already playing the game.

Then again,go ahead and trust the FRS employee for all i care.

What is your SERIOUS question please? I missed it in your original post and my answer was quite constructive, the people at the shop, your forum friends and you have a wild fantasy, nothing else. You started then with the sarcasm.

How old are you, going around calling people pricks when you can't get 2 + 2 together?

Even if there would be a delay, neither Magnus or Requiel would post here, they would read it from a press release like we would. EA is a public stock corporation, a delay of such highly anticipated product has to be announced immediately so that the shareholders can react.

If some grass smoking dudes at a random shop are bullshitting you because they can't deliver I suggest to cancel the order and order elsewhere. It might be a little late for the CE now though.

The most constructive thing you could have done would be to call the shop yourself and ask for someone who is not stoned. Too much to ask for?!

Considering that EA owns many major distributors they prolly forced every little tiny shop to order at least 1k copies just to get that number in :p.

i don`t see why they should do this only for war.
more pre orders than for any other game they ever did means something in my book.

Did I say I trust what the FRS Employee said?
No, I just gave the info I received and I'm trying to get to the bottom of this story.
No point calling me or my guildie a troll for this.
Idiotic remarks from Manisch aren't helping either.

Such chest beating can mean nothing too though, see Age of Conan :/.
If the game will be a long-term success is to be determined, though I very much hope so.

So it would confirm that the release is delayed for the Netherlands, in my opinion.
Even though I live in Belgium, I had the bad luck of ordering from a company that depends from their branch in holland, I'm pretty f***ed :(
Now, the question is, will we lose access from the 18th on till we receive our codes from FRS and Bol?

So what did I miss? For now I see you selling us some naivety as information (that needs some investigation).

Manisch, be a good boy now and go watch some cartoons?. Apparently, this is something that happens for the Netherlands, so keep out of this now. You've postfarmed enough.

GoA had previously announced a short 'grace period' for those in the headstart (I think about 7 days) to allow for delays in boxes being shipped out.

CE's have been sold out for a while I think which is why they've been pulled from the site - just hope they get their delivery stock in for those who have already preordered it.

When I registered my head start code I got a mail from GOA stating the account would be active until 01/10 (I assume the CE box will arrive before that :D)

Yeah, they did already send me a mail that they could deliver it to me, and that I could pick it up at the nearest FRS store from the 18th on. I just hope that they will receive their CE's.

Thanks, Javai, that's already a problem less to think about.

On the GOA site :

The vast majority of you who have pre-ordered a Collector's Edition will finally have this beautiful box in your hands for the 18th September, however we have recently been made aware that, due to delays in the manufacturing process, it may not be possible to guarantee that all CE pre-orders will be shipped in time. A small number of you may therefore experience a delay of a few days. Because of this, we have extended the grace period in which all CE pre-order customers can play without entering your CE retail key from 7 to 14 days. This is in addition to the 7 free days offered to all Open Beta testers.

Hallelujah, I'm curious when I'll receive it now.
Safe for the headstart and items, I wanted the miniature to add to my O&G army :D

There you go, you and your big mouth, wild fantasy huh?
First concider who you are talking to. Maybe this guy is close
to a reliable source. Maybe there are really some people out there that know a little more then you do, just maybe there are some serious buyers at distributors that are very good friends with these people. And maybe, just maybe, these people are a little more mature then you are, not talking age here, just common sense.

Next time think, or send me an internal message now that I have an account in here anyway.

Thanx
