Want a router - which one??

Anyone got any recommendations for a decent router?

I want one which is reliable primarily and hopefully with wireless built in (and reliable wireless - the last wireless device I bought used to drop connections all the time - especially when copying large (>200mb) files... and I would like to be able to stream .avi's to my telly through my laptop )

Myself and Laz both have a Netgear DG834, and personally I couldnt recommend it more. Whilst not being wireless, its sister the DG834G is and is also extremeley good at ......er.......routing stuff

I had loads of problems with my Netgear (random disconnects for no apparent reason) despite firmware upgrades etc. I've swapped it for a D-Link G604T, which has been fine so far...

Yeah - I had a netgear wireless network hub and it used to random disconnect too - annying in the middle of large file transfers... I've heard the Dlink stuff is pretty good.

One other thing - I've heard that a lot of them don't support VPN protocols (annoyingly) - and it'll definately be a requirement...

Ive had a Netgear ADSL router for a good two years and it has never gone wrong once no not never once neither.

I've had netgear routers for ages. Only problem I ever had was VPN not working but that was solved with a new firmware version...

Netgear DG834 DOES support VPN

I have this kit, and vpn to my work office no problem. Kit works fine as well, I can recommend.

I've got a Linksys WRT54G router, and it's pretty damn good. Very easy to configure, and not had any problems with it.
Large files don't seem to be a problem anyway
